If I could give 0 stars I would. We were extremely disappointed in our stay at Amity Serviced apartments. After driving all day with our 11 month old we arrived at 1:15pm to check if our room was ready, the lady who we encountered was abrupt and very rude and said that we were too early and to return at 2pm. When we returned 45min later at 2pm the reception was locked and no one was around. Luckily one of the housekeeping staff saw us waiting and assisted us. The room was outdated, rundown, carpets were disgusting, heaters broken, fire alarm faulty, we found a dirty pair of undies under the bed…and the list goes on. Safe to say I checked the cancellation policy straight away to be extremely disappointed. I felt unsafe and dirty staying here. This is a warning to everyone-Do Not book your stay here!

Strangle room TV on wall on bedroom and living room but we can't use them . Light don't all work. Show is hard to fit in unless you are very short. Manager in the morning rude. Breakfast supplied was not nice old bread and muffins and not enough for all guests. Room didn't have enough chairs. Not worth the $500 plus they charged

Incredibly disappointed with the running of this hotel. Booked for upcoming school holidays, found it unusual a few weeks out still hadn't got a confirmation email. Sent them a screen shot of my confirmation of booking on their website to check why no email only to get this unprofessional and unhelpful response back the following day.

Your booking is under over booked not to sure website fault or our motel mate.

Sadly we need to cancel your booking as we have no available room for you.

Had I not enquired we would have arrived with my young son and no where to stay. They clearly had no intention of informing us of their error
Have asked them to call me to discuss they haven't and have tried them multiple times with no success.

    Thanks for nothing but stress.

Would highly recommend! First time in Queenstown, and I was very happy with this lodge.
    Location - 5
it's a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre where all the pubs and restaurants are. Does have a bit of an uphill climb headed back to the lodge, just a warning for those with weak knees! It is also a minute walk away from the bus stop where most tour buses can pick you up from.
    Cleanliness - 5
Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen area and living area were very clean.
    Amenities - 5
Coffee, tea and cream/milk supplied. Hair blower available. Enjoyed the heated towel rack too!
    Wifi - 5
quite fast, although my mom couldnt seem to connect to it, despite having only 2 devices using the internet (max stated was 4 devices for the wifi)

We got there really late and left quite early, never actually got to meet any of the staff members. Although one of the guys peaked their head out of the window when he saw us leave and we thanked him and said goodbye😅

We stayed two nights in Queenstown during our road trip in New Zealand. As hotels in this touristic place are quite pricey, we decided to book Amity Lodge for two nights to stay within our budget.
I have to say it was a very good decision. Best value for money so far on our trip! The rooms are very spacious, well maintained and clean. As we arrived, the owner welcomed us warmly and gave us a short introduction to the appartment room with kitchen and living room. Before that he handed out a map and explained the must sees and the directions to the town centre. Overhelmed of this welcome and the long drive from Christchurch, we parked our car in front of our room (so comfortable), had a rest and walked down later to the crowdy city centre (5min walk).

The only negative point could think about is that there is no breakfast available. But for people like us who enjoy the local breakfast much more than the standard-hotel-continental-breakfast-help-yourself-menusthis is perfect! :-) Not to mention there is a kitchen in your room to prepare your own breakfast.

CONCLUSION: I will definetely stay again with Amity Lodge when I am back in Queenstown. Thank you very much Amity Lodge team for making our days in Queenstown so relaxing and memorable.

Great value for money. Huge rooms. Great location. Parking. Nice mountain outlook. Afternoon sun. No lake views. Hot water slightly dodgy.

I am a part of the group, I give this comment late cause I want to do more comparison between this motel and other motels.

I have spent 18 days in New Zealand and stayed in over 10 motels, only the owner of this motel will check everything and require u do fully cleaning (return the room in the same condition when guest move in) when u check out. However, when I checked out at other motels, the staffs just said "ok, bye! Have a nice day!" and nothing more.

Besides, the owner of this motel is very very very rude when he find anything that make him unhappy.

Be aware of other travelers, who don't want a bad motel experience ruin their perfect journey.
