Breakfast is Scandic standard always good.

And outside the Vulcan area is extraordinary!

I have been living in two different rooms here and both were way to cold and could not get the temperature higher - that’s the loss of star

Heating System didn't work. Froze all night. Turned out they knew before as there was a central problem with whole hotel system. Temporary heater they brought up also didn't work. Asked for manager but he/she was at home,,,,,,tucked up in a warm bed no doubt. Street noise is also bad EVEN THOUGH I asked for a quiet room. Looks nice but experience is worst from my 130 hotel nights per year.

Very nice European hotel comoared to others. Great room and shower. The only reason I have four stars is the location for tourists and lack of things to do in the area. There is a great food court in the back of the hotel though.

The Scandic Vulkan, named for the development it resides in, is a large hotel only 10 mins by bus from Oslo S central station (around 25 mins walk).
I found my room was larger than other Scandic hotels I've stayed in. Room had two single beds (pushed together), desk, TV, small lounge chair. In all, it was quite stylish if simple. I found that the bed was to soft for my comfort and the single quilt being a little small.

There was a fitness room with sauna/stream, but i didn't have time to use it so can't comment on it's quality.

Breakfast had a large variety of items, from breads, different crisp-breads, multiple typical Nordic cold dishes (fish, cheeses, meats, pickles.), add well as yogurts, cereals and fruit. Hot food included boiled eggs (hard/soft fresh in egg bath), scrambled eggs, fried eggs, baked beans, sausages, bacon). Add a vegetarian I only tried the eggs and beans - they were all (bar boiled eggs) cold on each day which was disappointing. The quality of all the other options made up for this fact though, and coffee was good to provide some warmth & help wake me up!

Had a nice stay, nice staff and good food very impressive breakfast. A very small room with some minor flaws, Internet not very good and a door that wouldn't close.

A fresh clean hotel in a great location for eating, art, shopping, walking along the river. The breakfast is one of the best I had in a hotel in years. Really enjoyed my stay.

9 days here enjoying all comforts, delicious and huge breakfast, elegant lobby and practical gym. The room was perfect in any sense. Last but not least very kind persons in all services. You'll love it

This is only my opinion, but it is the correct one!
A descent hotel, the best thing about it is the bar, a large one with good food. Standard Scandic style. Very minimalistic. Still clean and fresch which is very important for me. Next to the hotel there is a food hall with some nice places, good beer bar.
