Gave us the wrong room. The room was full of bugs and woke up to a nest of ants. Next morning they moved us to the correct room which was super nice.

My top hotel choice for Ometepe Island. Love the lake front cabins, friendly service and great food. Perfect option for couples, families and groups. They have a mix of family style cabins and double rooms.

Maybe we arrived at a bad time (Dec 1), but we did not have a great experience. The hotel only had maybe 6 guests and most of us were bunked in a back bungalow. Even knowing they were there, we rarely saw anyone. The first day was earily devoid of any other people other than the at the restaurant. We had hot water the first night we arrived and then not again. The whole farm was overrun with noseeum type bugs. Harmless, but overwhelming nonetheless. The beach area was dirty with garbage and dead fish. The restaurant was good, but a bit pricey compared to similar restaurants in the island. The rooms were sealed with screens over the window, but on our second night, I found a spider the size of my palm on the bathroom floor. Usually I am fine with spiders, but I was shocked at how something so big could get into a supposedly sealed room. I killed the foul beast and had an uneasy sleep as the power cycled on and off through the early hours of the morning. The desk man let us pay and leave a day early with no qualms. He apologized as best he could, while not fully relating to why we were so upset.

Overall, the hotel is overpriced for the facilities it offers and for the relative remoteness of its location. Being 3km off the main road, when a ride costs $20 (no matter the destination), is not feasible without your own vehicle.
