Pelican eyes is beautiful! Very clean and comfy! Everyone was extremely nice, breakfast was amazing, there are three pools, 2 restaraunts, spa and many many steps! It is pricey but in this case you get what you pay for! The only thing that was not good was the lighting on the stairways. Some night it worked then other nights it didn't and it is dark here.

I give it 5 stars for the view. The food only gets 3 stars. Beautiful property. We hiked all the way to the top pool only to find out the bar was closed 😭 so we spent our day in the lower pool. Still gorgeous.

Beautiful pools with some of the best views in San Juan. If you're just visiting for the day and are planning to drink/eat at the pools be sure to ask if the bars at the upper pools are open before making the long hike up to the top. The views are worth the hike anyhow, but you'll be ready for a drink when you get to the top. The lunch, ordered from the bar, was average at best and not cheap due to the other amenities at the resort.

Beautiful place, family friendly! The location is on a hill so you have to work a little and walk a little but the view is worth it and the private environment is so nice and quiet. Just a block from the entrance is the town square/park in one direction and the market a block in the other direction. The location really can’t be beat. The staff does a great job with being bilingual- they are much better than we are! I really appreciated the reliable power and Wifi as we work remotely and need internet to run our business. We would definitely come back.

Resort is at the up on the hill, get views but it has its down point,
    1. Hotel offers nothing but sleeping accommodation, there is nothing to do at the hotel.
    2. I have been here 3 days and 1 of the restaurants they offer has been closed.
    3. We were put in the back of the property and you need to get picked up and dropped off.
    4. The shuttle service is spotty, some times they get you and times you have to wait 15 min for a ride.
    5. The breakfast is poor, cold food when it arrives and you could find better choices on the outside.
    6. Nice rooms but it comes with its ups and downs.
    7. Half the staff do no speak English,
    8. Would I stay here again, answer no there are better choices if you want to get out and about. To many stairs and they have nothing to offer but free rides to hour room. No hotel entertainment, nothing to do on your down time.

At Pelican we stayed at Casa Russo. We checked in at about 2:30 pm, and then left for town. At about 5:30 pm we came back and the house was warm, even though both the downstairs and the upstairs ACs were at max (as left by the bell boy). My wife called reception and the lady said that a repairman would check the AC in a few minutes. At 7:30 we went back to town, and I stopped by reception to ask them once again to check the AC. We returned at about 8:45 and the house was still warm. I called reception again, and the lady said that the AC had been checked and it was fine, which was untrue. Finally someone came to check the AC at about 9:25 (almost 4 hours later). I got a call from reception that a card in the AC was faulty, but they were unable to replace it (after they had lied that the AC has been checked). They offered another casita but we declined as it was very inconvenient, because it was late and we were tired. They should have repaired the AC or move us when we initially called 4 hours earlier. Fortunately it was somewhat cool outside, and we managed to sleep with the windows open.

Beautiful views as it states in on the website, however the service is remarkably poor. There were insects and ants crawling around the room, and the shower head was broken. When we ran out of clean towels, we called the reception only to have them not deliver. This happened multiple times.

Once we came back to our hotel after walking and exploring the town, we discovered bird poop on our bedsheets, AFTER they had been changed. Our A/C broke one night and we were miserable. They ran out of pool towels one day at 11:30am and said "sorry we don't have anymore," forcing us to drip dry.

All in all not the 4 star experience we were hoping for. I was torn between a 3 star and 2 star rating, because it's probably a 2.5 star but because of the horrible pillows that are so hard and uncomfortable, I went for a 2 star.

Wonderful villas with a views and breezes to match. Shuttles will ferry you up and down between the main lobby area and your villa. Does have WiFi however spotty it may be. AC and hot water also are hit or miss, but overall definitely worth an extended stay!

The spa, poll, and pool service is really great. Some of the best views of San Juan del Sur. A relaxing place to spend the day while sipping cocktails by the pool and there's usually howler monkeys in the trees nearby!

Amazing infinity pool and amazing burger! You should definitely give it a chance, especially after an intense drinking night. You can chill there the whole day just by ordering food or drinks.
