It's not everyday you can go on vacation and leave feeling like you're part of the community, and Tara and Trevor have made that experience of community (with the other surfers at the camp, and with the expats and locals in town) simply magical. I came to GFS on a sisters surf trip in November '21, and we both had the best time on our first visit to Nicaragua. Before the trip, Tara was incredibly communicative in answering all of our questions and making us feel at ease about navigating COVID and travel logistics. And once we got here, we loved the experience of living by the beach, surfing 2x a day, and meeting the other camp guests! Breakfast was absolutely bomb, we regularly ate too much of it, and it was a decision we were happy to live with! Even though my sister and I are both beginner surfers, we still asked to do the video analysis that comes with the intermediate surf package, and I'd recommend it to other beginners as well- it's just so helpful to see yourself and understand where you can improve. Overall such a memorable experience and so glad we went with GFS for our sisters surf trip!

Amazing people! They made the whole trip easy, describing simple options for flights/transportation getting there and back, and organizing a car to pick me up from the airport. Also orchestrated the Covid testing needed to get in and out of the country! The surf was amazing, boat trips to remote breaks up and down the coast. The food was fantastic. Could not say better things.

11/10, I could not have asked for a better trip! Tara and Trevor welcomed us in right away, helped us navigate through travel issues, and worked with us to plan our activities every day. The food was phenomenal, and the surf guides and captains were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They took us to all of the perfect spots working best for the current tides and swell; either by boat or truck. Got the best, longest, biggest, and emptiest waves of my life. Absolutely loved spending time with the staff and meeting others in the town. Got out fishing too and made some unreal ceviche! The place is also super nice with comfortable rooms, plenty of space, and a sweet hangout area that extends out directly to the beach. Unlimited beer, rum, food, boat rides, waves, and fun are unbeatable. Could not recommend enough! Miss you all already

I want to share a big thank you to everyone at Giant’s Foot Surf Camp. Giant’s Foot is special and I am extremely thankful to have spent a week with the everyone there. Tara and Trevor really make you feel like you’re apart of a family and apart of the community in El Gigante. Our surf guides Kevin, Lenny and Maximo knew every break so well and caught us the best waves of our lives in empty line ups. Their lead captain Armando is as solid as they come and even helped catch us some fish for the best ceviche ever. To top it all off the beers are always cold and your plates are always full. Thank you so much to everyone who made my stay so special. I will definitely be back soon and recommend everyone to put this place on your bucket list you won’t regret it.

This place rocks! I've been there twice now (Nov '15 and Apr '18), once solo and the other with my cousin, and both were great experiences. Great value for what you pay and amazing staff. I am beginner/intermediate surfer and my travel companion is a beginner. Despite the larger group at the camp being much stronger surfers, the guides do a great job of finding waves for all abilities. The accommodations are comfortable and the food is incredible.

The new owners are great and only seem to be concerned if every guest is having a great time. They were very accommodating with our last minute trip changes and didn't nickle-and-dime us over extra charges, instead made suggestions to make our trip cheaper. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed here for nearly a week in March 2018 and had a blast. Their surf guides (Kyle, Diego, and Spence) will put you on the best wave available that day and are great company. Food is great and lodging is clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

We traveled in May 2016. Four in our group. The crew at this camp is all about surfing. We surfed 3 different breaks most days and 4 breaks on one day. It was simple, if we wanted to go -- we went and they were happy to take us. We have been to Costa Rica many times and this was the best most, consistent waves we have surfed. Food had good variety, and there was plenty of it. Like advertised, beer and rum were included, and beer on the boat for the way back if you wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful and had good knowledge of the local breaks. Accommodation - if you want luxury then you will probably be disappointed. The lower cost of this camp relative to others takes into consideration the basic accommodations provided. The A/C worked well and the cool water shower was fine. The rooms are smallish, but we didn't spend any time in the room. So that was of little concern. There was plenty of space in the shade hammocks and lounge area. Overall it was a great week. We hope to be back next year.

GFS provided an amazing surf vacation. The all inclusive nature made it totally relaxing - clean rooms, tasty food, excellent surf guides, plenty of drinks, cheesy movies, and comfy hammocks. The surf guides know the breaks and conditions so well that they can really personalize your multiple daily surf sessions for your skill level and desired experience. If your paddling muscles need a morning off, you can abuse your arms trying to land some fishes. The entire crew at GFS is like a special family that welcomes you home in a little sandy piece of paradise.

Best camp you'll find in Nicaragua! Went down there solo and had a blast. Great staff, really made me feel like part of the crew. Good food, beautiful location and most important great surf. Highly recommend flying down and spending some time with these dudes and getting in some barrels. Wont find a better deal! Stayed March 2014, traveled solo

Spent two weeks with these guys and had loads of fun. Crew is very fun loving and knows how to have fun - they made me feel very welcome.

Food is great (Lupe breakfast!) and the rooms are cleaned every day. Only complaint I can say about this place is that Bryce gave away a spoiler to Games of Thrones (Haha, you knew this would be coming Bryce)

    Thanks for the fun guys!
