There is no place in Nigeria like the Tinapa. At least not at the time of this review. What time of the year do you want to get here? There are two distinct times with distinct experiences. Christmas periods and other times of the year.

When you get here during the year, the serenity is fantastic. The place is colourful, roads are smooth and curvy. You will certainly miss your way, trust me but there is help around to get you out. During this time, you can take pictures of the place, great selfies and move around with ease. The shopping complexes are open during the day so you can shop without the pressure of lots of people moving about. And since this is an EPZ, you get to purchase things cheaper than elsewhere. I recommend you go with a guide who knows his/her way around so you achieve much in little time. Take the light rail from the resort all the way to the International Conference Centre. It is a lovely experience and you get great views for photos. This might not be active at the time you get there during this time of the year (non-festive). Whatever you do, don’t miss out on the Water parkthank me later.

If you are going during festive period (especially Christmas), get ready for crowd. The ante is upped like several times over it becomes dizzy a bit. The malls have more people in it but the the good thing is that it is the reason there is a good stock of products. The resort hotel has more people this time as well.
The water park gets really crowded with kids, adults and vendors. Fun is assured. Come with a camerayou have to.

Tinapa Lakeview hotel and the international convention center are places to visit. The experience and memories lingers on due to the organization of the place.
The brain behind the initiation should be commended.

The restaurant is a joke .i did not stay i only went there to eat and they had only 4 local dishes although they said on phone they were operating with continental dishes. Not worth the trip.

Nice place for retreat. Has the ambience for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice and courteous staff as well.

The concept behind the making of Tinapa is unbelievable, I give kudos to the former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, for this brilliant concept.

Lovely room. Lovely view. The lakeside is beautiful and one can actually go on a boat ride. Enjoyed their food service esp plantain&eggs! Super courteous staff. Just that it's beginning to look abandoned - cobwebs in the high ceilings and grass growing in between concrete slabs. Poor maintenance no doubt yet it was a remarkable experience. Oh, and noisy, really noisy, air conditioner in my room.

Awesome place. Could be boring if visited during off season period. And please, if you don't have a car, have a taxi on standby for you all the time. The walk from the main gate is quite a distance.

A quiet and serene location. However the facilities are on the decline. Its glory days are gone. When they is no event going on, it is place to go if you want to get away from it all.

The ambience is lovely, one of the best scenery in Nigeria. They however need to work on improving quality of service

Cosy but exquisite. A little bit over priced but worth every effort to be here. Not many entertainment options around. Nice though.

Highly deserted. Most shops were closed down, the ones left were dark and musty. No directions as it is quite an enormous place and we got lost several times locating places there. They need to revamp the place, such a waste of a great tourist idea and simply space. A great big waste of space.
