Worst Service Ever
I was referred to this hotel by a friend and all my hopes came crashing on meeting the manager and receptionist. Poor service. The manager lied about the hotel rooms prices. And disappeared.

The rooms were kept like nobody's been there for ages. We had no towels, toiletries, and pillows. We had to call and wait each time we need anything. The toilets and bathtubs were at the lowest standards you could image. And some never came.

Besides us, we meet other unhappy customers angry and shouting at the receptionist and cashier.

In a nutshell, I hate my stay there, and none of my friends would ever vote to use here again. Ever.

I stayed in this hotel for a night and it was an unpleasant experience. First the room I was assigned was still dirty and unkempt as at 7.35pm when I arrived. It took another 19 minutes for them to get me another clean room. Then I settled down. The bathroom handle was bad and would lock you in if you shut it. Water in the bathroom was not flowing fine. I made an order for food which took an hour to arrive after several calls. When it was time to rest, it was impossible because the band and club was playing all through. Beddings were not clean. The hotel needs maintenance.

Basic rooms shouldn't be that expensive, let alone have nothing in them. I loved the pastries shop though

Nice ambiance. My immediate misgiving is that the phone/intercom is not by The bedside. One will have to get up from the Bed each time u wish to use the phone This is not very convenient; particularly if you are asleep and The phone rings.. U will have to stand up and walk to the phone. Those with short sleep will lose their sleep by The time they return to bed

The best things about this place are the food, the friendliness of the staff and the sense of security.
The elevator worked for half a day of the 3 that I stayed there ( good news if you are trying to increase your step count- I did 4 flights of stairs many times a day). The laundry could be better- "clean" towels and sheets had stains on them despite a fresh smell, the air conditioner was unreliable despite a maintenance visit. Overall, good intentions by management but no ? will ( or maybe funds) to make it better?

Room service food delivery was surprisingly quick. Staff were friendly. However house keeping service was off the mark most times. They tended to forget either a towel or toilet paper. Maintenance l found seriously lacking. I inadvertently turned on the lock in the bathroom door and that was it. I couldn't get out. I spent minutes trying to unlock the door to no avail. Luckily there was a crack at the top of the door. Had to sommon all my energy to pry it open. That was not funny at the time. So on a scale of 1 to 5 I give it a 3 on room service,
house keeping 2 and
maintenance 1, courteous staff 4.

My stay was August 2016. I had a nice time at Channel View. It was better than I expected. Although the dining was very tasty, on more than one occasion I did not receive the meal that I ordered. I did not want to complain so eventually I went elsewhere to eat. The cleaning staff was very nice. The front desk staff was not very friendly but overall my experience was nice. The Mayfair Lounge is a nice place to hang out and have a few drinks while listening to music or doing karaoke. I was very grateful for my time there. It would be a 5 star hotel if they can get rid of the ants in the rooms and do some furniture upgrades.

The hotel has lost its glory. The furniture in the rooms are falling apart. Room service takes forever if you are lucky because sometimes they don't come at all. The Airconditioners don't work, the safes in the room don't work. The elevator doest work, the refrigerators don't work. The only good things about the hotel is the Location, nightlife, pleasant staff & constant electricity.

Just okay. Lunch buffet on Sundays not bad. Swimming pool isn't bad either..
