I was almost conned into a time share The hotel and staff were great except for time share people. Not sure if they are tied together

Comfy rooms, great service and theyve totally remodeled. I have to admit, I liked it much better prior to this remodel. They've built buildings that block the ocean and swimming pool view quite a bit. Not to mention all the new vegetation that blocks it. They should have left well enough alone.

Returned March 5. Resort has new Vegas style Day Club which makes it loud all day. Not only that, but the jackhammering started promptly at 8. Disappointed they took away some of the Mayan themed decorations which I enjoyed.

The staff is very good at meeting the needs of the visitors. We have a 1 year old and did not have a kitchen, but they accommodated us by bringing us a refrigerator so we could store the milk for our baby. I told them about a microwave in a common area that was not working and they had it replaced within a couple hours. The Joy Club is very good at engaging people in activities fun for all ages. Ivan and Cesar were especially engaging.
They are about to open three new large renovations to the resort. We got lucky and were able to visit the Herringbone restaurant on its first day open. The food was incredible.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. You can get good views from the third floor and up.
The town is literally right across the street and there are a couple of large grocery stores within walking distance.response / report this review -

The entire resort is under construction from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. with constant hammering and drilling, etc., etc. Spa is closed. Use of pool is impacted. Stay away. This is no vacation. It is a nightmare. Resort should have been closed during this project. Shame on the Chavez family.

We have always enjoyed our stay at the grand Mayan los Cabo’s. Our last visit we were disappointed by the entire hotel renovation. If this type of renovation was going on in the states the hotel would not be open. If you are going through major construction at least have the decency to notify your customers so that we can make the decision if we would like to vacation in a construction zone or not. Also, asked the pool staff to play some upbeat Spanish music by the pool to drown out the construction noise and was told they have to play quiet music in the morning.

Yes ,it is under construction, but for me, it was not a big deal, pool bar was open, services was great, the view of the water was to die for. Rooms were beautiful and cold. I would do this trip again for sure

Waiters and activity employees are amazing. Omar in the activity area made me smile everyday, he gets everyone to participate in the activities which made me meet people I may not have. Construction was loud and dirty but did not stop my husband and I having a good time.

MAJOR CONSTRUCTION IS UNBEARABLE 9/25/17.
The entire hotel from front entry to the lobby to the pool area is undergoing MAJOR CONSTRUCTION. It is LOUD, SMELLY, DUSTY, UNSIGHTLY and the antithesis of relaxing. Smells like paint thinner and the dust of construction debris is visible in the air and gets on everything.
Two thirds of the pool is closed. To access the part that is open, you must walk very far through a construction site with a plywood corridor.
JACKHAMMERING, WATER TRUCKS AND BACKHOES START AT 8 AM. Unless you like being awoken by the reverse beeping of heavy machinery and jackhammering right below your window, STAY AWAY.
I'm sure this place will be beautiful and great when they finish next year. Until then, it should be closed and you would be wise to AVOID THE GRAND MAYAN LOS CABOS.

The whole hotel is under construction and the first 4 days we were there nothing was open the pools beach bars nothing. We couldn't even order room service. There attitude was they can do nothing for you. Worst place I have ever been. We were walking through a construction site for our honeymoon.

So when I first chose the Grand Mayan Los Cabos for my honeymoon spot, I DID see that there was construction going on, but a lot of people make it seem like it's not a big deal. It IS a HUGE deal. They are constantly doing construction LOUDLY for most of the day. The whole front of the hotel is torn up and is pretty sketchy to drive onto. This place is really going to look beautiful when it's all done, but for now, not so much. That being said, the food is amazing, the staff are all very friendly and kind, the service is really good, and the pool is lovely. If you can face away from the construction, it can sometimes feel like it isn't even there. However, as I am typing this from my room at almost 6pm at night on a Tuesday, they are literally JACKHAMMERING and destroying something out front. Again, this place will be awesome when it's done. I think it would helpful if they gave more discounts or more incentives to stay here and be happy while staying here, this room (with the construction happening) is certainly not worth what we paid to stay here. Don't get me wrong, the room is pretty awesome, the house keepers do an amazing job, and the jacuzzi tub is incredible, but the construction is a real buzzkill. Also, there isn't too much to do during the night, so hopefully you like to relax (I do!). The strip mall that is walking distance has cute shops and restaurants as well (La Mexican is out of this world good and affordable).
In conclusion, the construction SUCKS and guests should be compensated more for putting up with it/warned ahead of time. The rooms, service, food, location, and pool are all great. If you don't like construction (loud noises, not pretty to look at, don't stay here until it's done in March 2018). If you are an adventurer by day and just want a relaxing place to crash at night and don't care about the construction stuff, then this place is great!

It's an amazing experience, the service is one of the best I had known at an hotel in Los Cabos, the food, the room, everything is fist class, very recommendable!

The Mayan is more than I expected. Although, parts still under construction, it doesn't take away from it's beauty and charm. The staff is fantastic. Our one bedroom suite is enormous. We did not participate in their sales pitch so I cannot review the experience

They are currently constructing which should be done by July. Hakkasan is building a new night club and restaurant here so it will be even more awesome after they finish. This review ignores the fact that there's loud noise from the construction. Overall, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Awesome breakfast buffet at the restaurant and the pool side food and bar was really good and reasonably priced given that it is on resort. The pool is huge, and the beach view with the infinite pool was spectacular. Go across the street off resort if you want cheap food. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I stayed at the master bedroom but took a tour of all the other types of suites and it only gets better. If you are coming for their presentation, then know you will be talking to salesmen, so don't complain about them trying to sell you ownership at their resort. Overall, would recommend others to come here, especially after they finish the club and restaurant.

I had the worst experience with this resort twice. I think that in Los Cabos they are the least caring about their guest. Right from the sales department where if you do not buy what they are selling they will treat you like dirt and are ready to throw you out literally. Our current stay is so bad because of the construction going on. Everyday the sound of the Jack Hammer and the bobcat will drive you crazy. I have been trying to ask for the manager for three days and have not heard back from, even though I have been told that he will contact me. After paying a $1000 and being a member I have been treated so bad that I do not recommend people to buy membership in this organization. I will publish the full sad and insulting experience separately. I would recommend that if you are coming here do ask them that if the construction is going on. If they say yes, do not come otherwise you will be sorry. And if you do not buy a membership after listening to their sales pitch, you will be thrown out like a fly out of the milk. Sad, sad. A very unhappy guest.

We had a wonderful time during our two week stay at The Grand Mayan Los Cabos. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with everything you need and cleaned everyday. The pools are beautiful and pristine. The Activities Directors (Tony and Ceazer) are a lot of funmake sure you participate in Water Aerobics and 'International' Water Volleyball! ! The pool waiter for drinks and food where we sat, was usually 'Jose' and he was super! Went out of his way to pre-order our Happy Hour drinks and find us somewhere in or around the pool! Jose always remembered our preferences and was genuine and fun to talk with. You can't swim at this beach but you can definitely put on miles walking it in both directions and might even be lucky enough to watch baby turtles being released in the evening. The Grand Mayan is home to some great restaurants such as Samba and Blue Fish.as well as a great pizza place by the pool. A short walkless than 10 minutes, takes you to several excellent restaurants just across the street. The Timeshare Salesmen can be persistent but if you are not interested in their presentation just stand your ground and they will eventually back off!We would definitely stay here again!
