Relaxed atmosphere with great views of the ocean. Nice BBQ/eating area which served as a good congregation spot for all of the guests.

Location is removed from central San Jose and really requires a car for the best experience - taxis tend to be expensive. The owners have 4 rescue dogs which usually are not an issue but one night they barked for 4 hours.

The location is fine, 20 minutes walk from de beach. But the service is not so good. The breakfast starts at 8, that I think is a little late. The man in charge is a little rude. The rooms are okay, but the beds are old. The bathroom has a weird door and it makes a lot of noice at night. In the other hand, I will came back if I need to.

It was our first time in San Jose and it couldn't have been a better experience! The workers at MariaMar were absolutely wonderful! It was very clean with a beautiful view! It is a little outside of the downtown area but at the bottom of the hill is a bus stop for an easy and cheap ride to where you want to go. Not only was there an amazing view but they served breakfast every morning. It was perfect. Enough food to get you started but not too much that you felt like going back to sleep. The most amazing part was hands down the staff. I had left my jacket in the closet and didn't realize until I was at the airport. There was no time to go back and get it so I was considering it a loss. The owner was so kind that she drove it to the airport and returned it to me. She went above and beyond any expectations I had and am so thankful. I highly recommend MariaMar and can't wait to return!
