We went to Playacar Palace for 6 days as part of a 40+ person group for a wedding. Overall the experience was fun, relaxing, and very enjoyable.
5 stars for the entertainment, restaurant, and cleaning staff at the resort. They were constantly smiling and happy to help with any request I made, always remembered my name, took extra consideration for vegetarians in our group, and even planned special water activities at my request. Special shout out to Fania for amazing paddle board yoga and water aerobics classes!
4 stars for the wedding experience. It was a beautiful ceremony and very fun reception, but small logistical details were overlooked - the microphone volume was not loud enough to hear the officiant over the sound of the ocean waves, the dinner buffet was not lit, making it difficult to see what food you were taking, and the strobe lights were blinding on the dance floor.
1 star for Jesus who books extra activities off-resort. He made us all kinds of promises about the Coco Bongo 'experience' that cost our group $80pp and it all turned out to be a lie. Too bad they let him tarnish an otherwise wonderful trip, and then refused to reimburse us for it and acted as if we were the ones lying about the whole thing.response / report this review -

Best vacation ever! The staff was superb especially the beach staff. Sylvia made sure we always had plenty of food and drink while we sat under our umbrella and watched the waves. Our room was outstanding! Food was excellent with many types of cuisine offered.

This place is marvelous, the service is perfect.
I'm allergic to pineapples and strawberries and they always took that into account when those ingredients were present in the buffet or in the menu of a restaurant. When that was the case, they made a special meal just for me which was delicious.
The pool is great and the service they offer you there is top notch.
The rooms are gorgeous and have enough space.
Overall this hotel was better than we expected, and we had high expectations

We stayed at playacar palace for one week. From the time we arrived to when we left we were treated with kindness. Everyone we came in contact with from the reception desk to the excursion assistants to the other palace staff went out of there way to make your stay the best it could be. The New Years party was so fun. There was something for everyone. The entertainment staff work hard to involve everyone in the fun. The shows were great at night. There was fun in the pool and on the beach. The location is central so it didnāt take to long of a drive to get to excursions and itās near the pier to get the boat to Cozumel. The excursions are easy to book and the staff is very knowledgeable about what would be suitable for certain ages. Mayan adventures was a great excursion and the guides were a riot. The food at the buffet was great from healthy to cheese burgers. Even tried grilled cactus. They worked tirelessly all day to try and please you. Was a great experience. Would definately go back.

Service, service, service!!! Can't say enough about the service. The workers here go out of their way to help and in a way that makes you think they love their jobs. The food is great and everything is made fresh. The property is big enough to feel grand and opulant when taking pictures but small enough that you don't get tired or lazy going anywhere. Perfect for the wedding party we're a part of. Feels like our big ol house seeing everyone we know everywhere we go. Definitely the best place for a destination wedding. We should know as we got married and attended my cousins wedding here. Both times were amazing!

Food and shows are top notch. Nice dance club to burn off some of the food in the evenings. Great location, within a few hundred feet off property your in a brand new mall. Follow the roads to the public beach, on your way you'll pass restaurants, bars, merchandise, and we saw a parade January 2017. Walk to the ferry, & take it to Cozumel for the day! Experienced Playacar Palace in 2014. My Best friend and I went on a girl getaway. BEST CHOICE EVER! LOVED the room, service, food, people, and everything about it!! And of course how close it was to 5th Ave, and the ferry to go to Cozumel.
It was exceptionally clean, including the pool area and beach. The Staff was the icing on the cake!!! Always smiling, courteous, Fun, and being it's a smaller resort.they get to know you well! I have nothing but fantastic Memories with my tripand I felt 100% safe at all times. Looking forward to the day I can return. Hopefully sooner than later! šresponse / report this review -

Playacar Palace was an amazing experience! The beach and pool were relaxing and beautiful! The food was awesome even the room service! What made this experience the absolute best was the staff. So kind and accommodating. Braulio was always full of positive energy and made our days and nights a blast, whether it was his DJ skills, aerobic skills, water polo, or beach volleyball he always had a smile on his face and everyone was always laughing. At the bar Benito and Juan had us covered! They were always making sure that we had what we needed and coming up with new drink ideas for you! Amazing experience, can't wait to go back!

This is our third time to Playacar Palace. We love small resorts and this one fits our personal taste. We love the town and enjoy the beach. This time I will have to say we were concerned with the seaweed. Hopefully, it's just a seasonal issue. They are getting ready to close for upgrades, which I think are needed. The Italian restaurant is wonderful! Cristhel was our server, she was excellent! Must ask for Nora on the beach, she was delightful.

Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Playa del carmen close to the ferry port. Rooms are nice and large and have ocean and sunrise view. The staff are very good and helpful too. Beach is nice too.

Beautiful hotel and location. Very close to everything! Don't worry about what to bring, there is an abundance of shopping blocks away.
The staff is wonderful and service is superb. I highly recommend the Hibachi restaurant! Looking forward to visiting the other Palace Resort in Cozumel.response / report this review -
