We had planned our trip months in advance for this location. We arrived to the hotel eager and excited and upgraded to the highest level of privilege. Thrilled for our experience, it turned out to be much of a disappointment. We had a jacuzzi on our balcony we would have loved to use everyday but house keeping never cleaned it after the first day, our coffee was never stocked and we had no mugs. The upgrade included room service yet our phone stopped working in the room along with the AC. The mini fridge was hot and the water for the shower was cold. The staff did not greet us kindly and we had no special treatment despite the upgrade of the $65/per night/per person. We made reservations for the restaurants and still waited 30-40 minutes to be seated and then waiting an exponential amount of time at the table - we had to ask if we even had a waiter! Unfortunately, we were unable to go into the ocean due to the heavy amount of seaweed and the red flag - which is not anyone’s fault of course. When we arrived to the hotel we were greeted by a woman that stated word of mouth is how the company grows - it is sad to say our excitement died and we would not recommend anyone to this location. I hope this message finds you well and it inspires to make a difference for the enjoyment of people’s vacation.
What to say about ocean coral & turquesa other than great things all the way! This all inclusive made my week I spent there. From there welcoming staff, to the amazing food to how well kept their establishment is kept. There is some for every one, different pools for the ones who want to be relax to the ones who wants to party all day. I would recommend this place to anyone even if at the time of the year I've been the beach was not at it's best. I most likely will go back to this hotel as I had a great time and amazing view from my hotel room. I'll let you be the judge of that with this picture I took from my room on the first morning! ;)
Great resort with a lot of options of things to do. Good variety of restaurants and food. The drinks are amazing and with a lot of options. Great place for vacationing with your couple, friends or family. The kids pool and area is big, pretty good to keep the kids busy. Great staff and amenities. Rooms are pretty good size, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
We just came home from spending a week at this resort. March 6-13 2018 Food was great. Blue Moon and the Grill fantastic choices for a sit down dinner. The buffet is great for breakfast choice. We never made it to the Japanese restaurant. 😭Stay away from Route 66.
Don't forget the coffee shop. Best for your coffee/ snack!
Pools are great staff great however explanation of how the cards and towel system work is non existent.
In order for you to get a beach towel you must get a card from the front desk, but they don't tell you that until you figure it out on your own. Nothing is mentioned at check in.
Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the beach since the seaweed was really bad not sure what the true story behind that is since we got different ones every day from either guests or the staff.
Over all a great time will definitely return to Mexico and hope we can enjoy the beach and beautiful water.
So beautiful. So relaxing. So luxurious. The restaurant variety is perfect, the beach is beautiful, the rooms are cool and spacious, the outside areas are gorgeous. This place couldn't be much better. The staff is even superb!
My brother held his wedding here in November of 2017 and the resort went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. They even surprised the bride and groom with fireworks as they danced to their first song.
It rained a couple of days while we were here so we were looking for things to do. The ladies at the desk near the gift shop were very helpful on getting us entertainment for the evening.
All-in-all, this trip was the best trip I've been on, and I credit it to this amazing resort.
Love this resort. We went 6 years ago for our honeymoon. Worth every cent for the second trip. We had 5 star service. Everyone goes above and beyond. Clean rooms, tons of variety of food, amazing pools. The beach isn't the clear gulf but it's still nice and sand is awesome. Can't wait to come back for a third time
The staff is very friendly and the views were spectacular however not teal water like the pictures make it seem. The food is so so. The room had so much moisture in the air I felt like my lungs were drowning. The jacuzzi and patio lights didn't work. The gift shop was outrageous. Paid $22 for a small plastic snow globe they wrapped in but put it in a bag with lots of heavy items it was broken by the time I got back to the room. I returned it right away with the receipt and they would not refund me or replace it. Said they were not responsible.
Such an amazing place! Very beautiful grounds with 4 great pools two with bars. Free drinks and food all day and most of the night. Big comfortable and luxurious rooms. All the staff are very helpful and lovely! Thank you so much for the stay!
Stayed in rm 16307. Room is awesome, compared to regular hotels. Room have huge bathroom, separate lounge room and a balcony . Hotel also have taxi service assigned to them where they pick you up and wait about 4 hours for you to bring you back to ensure safety. Food choices are great too. Staff are very nice and say hola etcwhen they pass by. Beach view is awesome and not crowded. Hotel also have daily events for people to do and enjoy on top of the 3 pools. There is a gym and spa for those who want to work out or relax.
Well worth paying extra for the "privilege". Ivan and Joaquin were great in seeing that every need was met. Coffee bars are great with exceptional service. Beds in the rooms assure a great nights sleep with the air conditioner able to get the temp to the low to mid 60's. Had the rooms been just a bit more updated this would be 5 stars, but this is in no way a complaint. Each room has a two person hot tub on the deck, but none seem to be in use or useable. Maids do an excellent job of keeping things up and the fridge was always replenished with our favorite drinks. Pools are clean and in outstanding condition. Restaurants are all worthy of bragging about. The entertainment at the pools will keep you smiling and engaged no matter what your age. Beaches are soft sand out to at least 100 yards and don't have the rock you'll find closer to Cancun. I wish they'd lose the high pressure vendors around the pool on Saturday night however. Most are a scam and I would advise avoiding them. We will definitely return. Thank you to the entire staff.
Loved our stay at Ocean Coral and Turquesa! This place has a variety of amenities. We stayed for 5 day. This was an all inclusive stay. The free Wi-Fi was available all over the resort. There are 4 pools available in this resort. Each pool area specializes in something unique, such as sports, adult swim up bar, relaxing area, and of course kids zone! A cool spot to chill in the afteroon would be Mikes Coffee shop! Cute cafe to grab a frappe or snack. The dinning experience was super. Each night the main Buffet had a different theme, such as Italian, Oriental, American, etc. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from. My favorite was Blue Moon. An adults only restaurant! Don't forget the Dance Parties at night! The Dance Parties where located by the swim up bar area and lasted until 1am. Music was great and atmosphere was even better. This Resort is kid friendly! If you have young children this place is for you!!! They really do have it all. A short paradise experience! I hope to visit again!
We had a large party with 4 rooms and 13 people, and we all reported a sub-par experience.
First, the check in was awful. The person who checked us in was rude and even raised her voice to us! We asked what time check in was, and then asked if we could check in since it was time. I don't think she realized the time, because she shouted "yes, like I ALREADY told you, check in is at 3 and not a moment before!". It was 3:05 pm.
Our room was dirty, missing fixtures, had a faulty refrigerator (that was stocked with already opened drinks), and we had to call numerous times to request the same things be taken care of. The rest of our party had similar issues, including one hotel room being flooded. When we reported the flood to the maintenance staff, they attempted to blame us. Their refrigerator was broken and leaking, but they wanted us to pay for it because "it wasn't like that before you got here".
The food and entertainment are lackluster at best. I have never gone to an all inclusive where I've actually lost weight before, the food was so awful! They also only served food that American children like to eat; chicken nuggets, burgers, etc. There were few Mexican options, and to be honest - Taco Bell was about as good as the "Mexican" food. Go off site, however, and the food is amazing. Just avoid eating here (and avoid drinking here too, unless you want off-tasting drinks that are more water than liquor). I even watched a bartender sneeze into his hand (over a the limes and drink garnishments), then with that same (uncleaned) hand, pick up and serve drinks BY THE RIM. So his germs got all over their drinks. Ew.
The shows looked like a middle school child directed them/came up with the content/ executed the event. They were not something we could even sit through.
If you want to spend a little more and go "Premium", then this might be a nice resort. We considered upgrading, and went on a tour of the facility to discuss it with H10 management. For our time, we were given $100 to use like cash anywhere in the resort. Except that when we tried to use it, we were CHARGED $80 in taxes. To use the coupon that the RESORT gave us specifically. What kind of sleezy place is this?
All in all, save your money and go elsewhere. When we brought up these complaints, we were only told "we will make note of that". Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where they actually want your business, because this place isn't it. I've never been so happy a vacation ended!
Beautiful location. Facilities are great. Food and service was excellent. The pools close at 7 or 8 local time, which I found a little to early. Most of the staff refused to take our tips, which was nice. We did leave a big tip and he end though. All in all, excellent vacation 4/5 stars
Upon our arrival, check-in was prompt, though we were early and had to wait a bit before we could enter our room. The bellhop took our bags and offered to bring them to our room when it was ready. When we got into our room we were surprised to find two queen beds instead of the single king we had requested. We later found out this happened to a lot of people so we just lived with it.
I'll start my critique with housekeeping. There's a card on the night stand that tells you they only change your bed sheets every three days unless that card is on your pillow. We requested more towels on four different occasions, twice they were delivered within 10 minutes, the other two times we waited over an hour and they never came. They only touched things they had to move to clean and did a great job of cleaning surfaces. The floors were another story, only once in the six nights we stayed did it seem like they mopped the floor. Trust me, this is something they needed to do every time they were in the room. Between the high humidity and the sand from the beach, it can get pretty bad.
Maintenance on the resort was good when it came to keeping public areas in good shape, although there were some lights at night that didn't work but it's not as if it didn't make you feel safe. They treated the property twice while we were there for mosquitoes, though you should still wear bug spray as they are around. We discovered our hair dryer in our room didn't work and my wife needed it for the wedding we were there for. It took them two days to replace it with a working unit even though when we reported it were told that it would be done that day. The night stand lamp in our room didn't work and was never fixed while we were there. The refrigerator in our room was on it's last legs, frosting heavily on the inside and barely colder than our room temperature of 22C. Our phone in our room would make a beeping sound like it was about to ring but didn't, every 3 hours or so, really annoying at night. The sliding glass door locks are a JOKE, even when latched, they can be opened from the outside with a few wiggles (This is a huge security issue and one of the main reasons why my rating for them is so low)
Room service felt a little slow (45 minutes to an hour) every time we ordered. The food is basically the same thing you'd expect at the buffet. DO NOT ORDER THE PIZZA, it's disgusting, by the time it gets to you it's soggy and limp. They were friendly, though did linger a bit for tips each time, which was new to me for an all inclusive resort.
The staff outside of food service and maintenance were nice and well spoken. At times they weren't much help with getting information from for exchanging money and even a simple task of trying to find a band-aid at one point, I had to find a lifeguard to get one. Lifeguards are really nice, super chill, they don't bother you unless you're being an idiot around water. The bartenders are awesome, they're as quick as possible and do a pretty good job of noting what order everyone showed up at the bar. They are also very accommodating with inventive shots and drinks.
The food was below my expectations. The bacon at times was under cooked on the buffet and had a funny taste. The omelettes were my go to for breakfast, they were delicious. The fruit always tasted very fresh and the yogurt was always good too. The desserts were not very good at all, you could tell they were mass produced. I have a mollusk shellfish allergy and no matter how many times I'd tell people this, they'd either ignore it or would assume I was allergic to all seafood, super frustrating.
The Italian restaurant food was okay.
Route 66 is terrible, they need to replace that place.
Mike's coffee is decent, the pastries were a nice snack.
The wait staff seemed to always start out great but after your first drink, it'd take awhile before you saw them again. It doesn't help either that the glasses everything is served in are about 180 ml.
Would have rated 5 stars but the H10 Sales pitch was a waste of time! Minutes after arriving we were greeted by our "personal concierge" who wanted us to eat breakfast with him the next morning and learn more about the resort. He said all we had to do was listen for 1 hour and we would get $250. Don't do it! The meeting took 3 hours and they took the membership price from $19K, to $15k to finally a $10k membership. We declined and they immediately turned off their charm and quickly walked us out. We then tried using the money at the spa for a couples message. The promotion was $280 for a couples messages. When we went to pay for it with our money received from th sales pitch, they told us it could be used towards the promotion and that we had to pay $500. :( stay away from the H10 sales pitch and you will have a great time!
The location is ideal. Right on the beach and it had 4 pools. I love the all inclusive. The room is just like any other size and quality of any decently rated hotel. The bathroom is nicer. The employees are friendly. I am visiting during high school spring break 2017 and so there are many 18 year Olds (18 is the legal drinking age). Lots of partying but families should feel welcome too. The few cons would be that they heavily over poor their alcoholic drinks, the food seems like there are many choices but it's not the best and not a lot of (included) activities for everyone in my opinion. Overall a great vacation and beautiful location.
Just got back from a trip to OCT. Overall it was a good experience. The staff are excellent and the room was good. There are too few umbrellas on the beach for shade so you have to get up very early (7am) to snag one. The H10 premium pitch was too aggressive. The food was regularly cold in the restaurants but overall quality was pretty standard for resort. The hot and cold shower was somewhat annoying. Overall though it was a good experience. However, there were probably enough negatives, even if minor, that I likely won't come back. There are other resorts I've been to in similar price range that have all the positives OCT does but none of the negatives.
Just came back last week from this resort. STAFF IS AMAZINGGGGG. Loved them. Every single one is so friendly & hardworking. The staff was my favorite for sure. Entertainment sucked, food was okay, view was gorgeous, rooms were smelly but okay, drinks were great. I would usually give a three star but because of the great staff and super friendly environment you get a four. Would come back just because everyone was hardworking and friendly.
So far, my visit to this resort has been very enjoyable. Rooms are decent and clean, food is great (other than the Mexican for some reason) and drinks are consistently average in sit down restaurants. If you want a tropical drink, the swim-up bar is where to go. Pools are a nice temperature and gigantic. This review will be updated throughout my stay.
My husband and I just spent 10 days at the resort and had a fabulous time. I was really impressed that all the restaurants specified the vegan and gluten-free dishes on the menus. For those of us who need to eat gluten-free, this was a welcomed change! Usually I have to check with the chef as to what I can eat, but at the resort I just ordered. This is the first time I have seen a resort go the extra mile.
Halfway through our vacation, we walked to town and I tripped on an uneven sidewalk and fell, breaking my wrist. The hotel staff, Denice and the physician on call were extremely helpful when we returned to the hotel and following the hospital visit.
The medical facilities at the hospital in Cancun were clean and I was seen right away - x-rays were done and the diagnosis was given. Language was not a problem.
The serving staff in the lobby, mainly Alba, were always smiling and very courteous and helpful.
The housekeeping was not consistent - most days we had 5 bath towels and one day we had 1. One day we had to go and find face cloths as none were supplied. Some days housekeeping came at 5:00 p.m. and other days they opened the door when we were still sleeping.
The beaches were cleaned of seaweed every day - unfortunately there was so much plastic garbage on the beach - this was evident at every hotel we passed as we walked along the beach. This problem seems to be increasing! Where is all this garbage coming from?
All-in-all this is a resort I would return to in the future.
