The place and the atmosphere were really charming. The location is a little more quite than other places. The food is maybe a little more expensive than other restaurants but worth it and really excellent.

Wow! I’m very pleased with our breakfast and all of the choices we made. Extremely fresh and healthy. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was out of this world!! We will be back!

Cosy outdoor sitting in a jungle garden available. Extensive menu with all Mexican dishes. A little bit on the expensive side. Food is tasty and we experienced some interesting flavours in the dishes we had. Service a bit hasty and impersonal. Recommended of You're looking for typical Mexican flavours.

Fantastic brunch. Multiple sauces for chilaquies, beyond simply red or green.
Bread is awesome, and turns into wonderful toast and French toast.
Staff is great. In the few times I have been, everyone has spoken great English, which is helpful to me.
The place itself is really cool. Kinda inside out, with a creek that runs through inside and out. It even has little turtles.
It's a really solid place

I''ll be brief. service, food, setting are all first class. The atmosphere of the "cave of the monkey" is a tropical magic. You can't go wrong. Very popular so dine early or make arrangements in advance.

Nice ambience with waterfalls and turtles..garden like romantic.. Generous portion of chips on the house..amazing food infused with natural and local ingredients. I had the tuna wrapped with banana leaf infused with lime and ginger. Most mains served with local plantains or yams. Good balanced meal and fast friendly service.

This place is perfect for breakfast/lunch.. they offer day specials, too..
the quality/price is really good.. the have a healthy menu with a lot of mexican dishes.. the staff is very friendly and always willing to help.

Good food, good prices. Friendly service and the place is incredible in its ambiance. Even though they have fans everywhere and on each table it can be really hot specially in the summer, even at night. But it has a relaxed atmosphere so you can go almost in your swimming suit if you come from the beach which is a block away.

The restaurant has such a nice ambiance as it is indoor and outdoor garden setting,and the food is delicious. My favorite being the Enfrijoladas or the Stuffed Poblano Pepper. The staff is always friendly and they make fabulous coffee. If you head there on a Sunday be prepared to wait in line for a table, cause it's that popular.

I make a point to stop by here every time I'm in Playa del Carmen. I've never had a bad dish here. We've always had fantastic service and the indoor/outdoor vibe is a lot of fun.

I fell in love with this restaurant while on vacation. We went several times. The food was great, very authentic, and really tasty. The omelets were awesome. The homemade french toast with plums were the best I have ever had! I'm still craving for them!! On top of that, the service is impecable! You can't go wrong. I HIGHLY recommend this place. You won't be disappointed!

This place is just the best. We went here on our first day in Playa and went back every single day. The food is just incredible and the staff is the best. I would recommend whatever the daily special is for breakfast. Out of this world.

I really think it is the staff writing good reviews for this place. We went there after reading the good reviews here.Although it is a decent looking place the food and service here is horrid. I can take bad service if I can get good food but it was not even average food. Just terrible tasting food and some of it looked as if it came out of a can and was heated in a microwave then dished out on a plate. So many other restaurants with better menus and food in Playa. Dont bother going there.

The dinner started in a high note: baked panela cheese and coconut shrimp soup both delicious! The staff was a bit scattered, not very attentive. When the main meal came the tuna steak was over cooked. They did ask me when they too the order how I liked it and I specified that I like it "rare". I asked the waiter to change it and I got a lot of attitude. They did change it but they also changed my mood. My partner's meal wad also over cooked and under seasoned. The place looks really nice inside!

We ate here around noon. I had enchiladas, which were delicious. Our waiter was attentive to our table, coming back to check on us often. There was a small dish with tomato & onion. I cannot handle much spice, and this was much too spicy for me. Our waiter immediately brought me yogurt to cut the spice in my mouth, and it worked perfectly. He let me know next time I can ask for the non-spicy dish. The ladies bathroom was very clean and well supplied. The only thing that brought it down from 5 stars to 4 is handicapped accessibility. There is a ramp at the entrance, although there is a bench right there. To access the bathrooms, there is a step and the flooring is rough, not smooth.

Review by a Playa resident.
Frankly it was painful for me to have to mark this place down from 5 to 4 stars solely to easily fixable accessibility challenges.
Food/Service: Fabulous mixed fruit crepes with granola and yogurt. My wife had enchiladas stuffed with chicken and Oaxaca cheese, with a verde sauce. A side dish of assorted vegetables had some peppers in it that was way past her "spicy" tolerance. Our server quickly brought chips to alleviate the spice and replaced the vegetables with the same sans peppers.
Both dishes were amazingly tasty, presented well, and substantial (we didn't leave hungry).
I noticed a number of recent reviews indicating poor service. That was as far from the case as could be for our experience here. Our server Alex was very attentive (but not intrusive). A number of other servers passing by would also just check on us periodically. When we did need something it was brought quickly. I noticed the owner noted the reviews about poor service. They seem to have paid attention.
Venue: A very cool place, an "in the jungle" feel, with a large gazebo covering the kitchen, bar, main dining room, and the central fish/turtle pond. There are a couple tables in the front, and several more in the back. Bathrooms are in the far rear to the side. Best couple tables are next to the turtle pond.
Cleanliness: Everything observed was clean and tidy.
Accessibility: A couple items here in an otherwise amazing place.
Plus - there is an entry ramp from the sidewalk. It was a snug fit for a wheelchair, due to a bench, but passable. Note that the only access to the bathrooms is through this entry landing. The covered gazebo dining room is accessible without stairs once up the ramp.
Negative - from inside the covered gazebo dining room, the only access to the bathroom area without (one) stair is back through the front entry then along the side to the back dining area where the bathrooms are located. Unfortunately, there is a single stair up to the common area between the men's and women's rooms. Also, the single person bathrooms are too small for a wheelchair to enter.response / report this review -

Awful service. was fooled by the reviews here , took my friends who had just arrived here hoping to impress them, the place itself is pretty cozy and real nice jungle set up. The waiter was not helpful at all not once did they come to check on us if everything was fine l. Was NOT impressed with the food either, they made us wait roughly 25 minutes to bring out four main dishes, the three tuna filets we asked for were cold, was very disappointed with the service and food quality. Was not too impressed with the starters either, would recommend it for drinks only if only they were good not coming back.
