We just came back from this resort. It’s almost wonderful. The resort itself is extremely beautiful and huge. Beautiful lobbies, beautiful villas, beautiful and huge swimming pools, great beach, great food, lots of drinks,very friendly and helpful stuffs.
So why I only give 3 stars?
The rocks under water! Sandy beach but rocky water! We went there for playing in the beach in the water not just sitting on the beach. But It hurts if you walk in the water. We really cannot enjoy it. Some of my us got a tiny cuts on the foot by rocks.
Another thing is the resort really needs to make a bigger teen active room/place and more activity programs for teens.
Also the buffet restaurant should start earlier and open longer as so many people but only one main buffet restaurant. Too busy and most time it takes a while to find a table.
My current suggestion for the resort is to provide a simple but free water shoes for every guest or guests who need it to make it safe and more enjoyable in the beach.
Although I put 3 stars but it’s still a great resort for vacation! It should worth 5 stars.response / report this review -

This was the second time I have been to Mexico and I have to say I wasn’t thrilled. I likely wouldn’t go back anytime soon. If you are a beach person I wouldn’t go to this resort. Grand Bahia is huge! You need to take a shuttle to get to the beach which in my opinion sucks! When I’m on vacation I like to have a beach front room and or be able to walk to the beach. It’s very inconvenient. Every morning there was a TON of seaweed in the beach. The water was rocky so it made it hard to enjoy going into the water. They also have a barrier I believe it’s protecting the coral reef nearby so it’s not a place you want to go to if you like being in the ocean a lot. If you do go bring water shoes.This is not adults only so there were a lot of families there. Not ideal for single people looking to have fun. The buffets were good with a lot of food options. Drinks were okay. They never taste the same out of the US. I loved seeing the iguanas through out the resort. The rooms weren’t bad. They do have a fridge that they will fill with beverages for you.

Watch out for the guys in gold shirts who are clearly trying to sell you something, otherwise a beautiful resort. The rooms were clean and spacious, the pool area was big enough to never feel crowded no matter how many guests were there, lots of food options at the buffet, and friendly staff. Food quality wasn't the greatest (ironically I've had better Mexican food in Michigan) but the number of options at the buffet were enough that everyone found something they enjoyed. The a la carte restaurants were very nice, though I question the need to limit them (only 3 allowed per week, we stayed 5 days and were only allowed 2) as much as they did considering there were often many empty tables. Getting around the resort was easy with the shuttles, and food/drinks were readily available pretty much anywhere. Most importantly, the kids had a great time!

Second time time visiting. Good experiences each. The rooms were clean, well maintained and well stocked.
The buffet has many good options for all types of appetites. It serves all diets well.
Even the children have many appropriate choices.
Our only complaint would be waiting for coffee refills ..we Canadians like our coffee😊
We also noticed waiting longer for non alcoholic drinks.
All staff were extremely friendly and eager to please.
There were nightly activities out on the terrace.
Many poolside activities to keep all ages busy.

Solid 4 Star resort. Great time with my wife. One special note, I fell ill early on our 2 week stay and was surprised at the door with a rice and chicken meal sent to me by the kitchen staff. My wife had told them I was sick in bed. I truly can't say enough about the staff at this resort. If you treat them well they will bend over backwards for you. Lots to do if that's your thing or enjoy peace and scenery with quiet areas. The water is questionable but bottled water is always available. Bottom line is yes I would go again.

I was recently at this place for a wedding and would NOT recommend this resort to ANYONE.
Upon arrival (with a group of 40+ people) me and my wife were told we were not on the manifest and that we didn’t have a room. I provided the manager (Josue) with my paperwork for my travel accommodations and reservation confirmation and was told regardless I would have to pay for a room until they could sort it out in the morning. After speaking with another manager ( Christian) and 2 hours of back and forth I was given the ultimatum to pay or leave the resort, which obviously left me with no choice. This was resolved the next day after spending several hours on the phone with our travel company and the resorts booking department. I did not receive a full refund until day 5 into our trip.
The rooms were tidy but were in need of repair as there was water spots on the ceiling and a strong musky smell. Service for our room fair as we didn’t spend much time there.
The grounds were the highlight of the resort as they were well kept with only superficial issues. A little big for people not looking to walk a lot but I personally didn’t mind.
The food at the buffet and snack bars are okay at best with very repetitive selection and no authentic food in sight. Several people in our group, myself included, got very sick On the last day of stay. Hard to say what it was as everyone ate different foods but it was most certainly from the food which made for a hell of a trip back home the following day.
Service and overall professionalism at this place has been the WORST at any resort I’ve been to so far. Most staff don’t seem to care about anything and take their time no matter the situation. There were a few good staff members that were great (Ivan, Karla) but overall guest experience seemed to be the last thing on the staffs mind.
The beach is not located on the resort and you must take a trolley to get there. It’s rocky in areas but hey it’s a beach so I enjoyed it. Get there early if you want a chair though.
Overall this resort had nice grounds and that’s about it. Poor food, terrible staff and mediocre rooms made for very disappointing visit. Outside of the great people I came with and the wedding, this resort would have easily made this the worst trip possible. AVOID STAYING AT THIS RESORT.response / report this review -

We stayed for a week. The grounds are beautiful, but the customer service is a huge negative. My fridge was broken for 4 days called and went to the front desk. Talked to supervisor and management. Every time, I was told 20 minutes they will have a new one to my room. No one cares all they wanted was your money. After that they do nothing to help you solve a problem you are having. I will never come back or refer this place to anyone.

We had a wonderful time the last two weeks. The hotel and grounds are well kept. The food and drink services are excellent. The Trolley system is excellent, would not have survived without this service. Very hard working staff.

This Resorts was over the top in exceeding expectations. Almost every avenue this hotel can think to make your vacation more relaxing they've done something to make it easier on their guests. Extremely clean, very smoker friendly with garbage cans and ashtrays everywhere. but in a good way for non-smokers it is hardly noticeable.CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN hotel; works always working to improve atmosphere.

Beautiful, clean, well maintained with about 90% of staffs very friendly.
Breakfast, lunch & dinner buffet are covered with more than 25 different variety of foods plus pastry & salad bar & drinks.
Gusts are obligated to wipe their hands with hand sanitizer at the entrance of buffet which is a great idea.
But, the guests should pay for in-room safe in American dollars
Bottle water is daily provided & mini fridge is refilled with beer and soft drinks.
I guess 4 star rating will describe this resort very well.response / report this review -

The place is a great vacation spot for families with youth children or older couples. However if you want to move around and go to the other resorts it's pretty hard as the carts that during you from place to place rarely cross over. Other than that it's pretty enjoyable. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was ok. The beach is close and the pool is almost better. People do tend to reserve seats even though they have several signs telling you not to. So if you want a prime time spot be sure to get there early. The drinks are free and they have many activities by the beach or pool side

Rooms are small but has everything you need for a comfortable stay, would have preferred walk-in showers rather than jacuzzi tubs. Service really goes above and beyond for meeting all my needs. I felt very welcomed during my stay.

Nice place to go on your vacation !!!
Reasonable price! Really nice and friendly people and stuff. Nice and clean beach, and resort area, good cleaning services. It was our first time in this resort we were there to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. I recommend everyone to go to this gorges tropical resort to have your vacation . I have been coming here since 2008. The staff is awesome. The food is good and plentiful. The rooms are clean. The beaches are great! My family loves this place and we will continue to return.

The weather was great! The resort Principe Coba should have a 3 star rating at best. They have a lot of communication problems internally which affects their service to their customers. the facilities are older and the rooms have a list of problems which don't seem to addressed. The cleanliness at most of the facilities including restaurants is suspect at best. They seem to be missing the mark on many of the simple things that vacationers have learned to take for granted. This chain of resorts I have used previously so this makes it more disappointing after having my expectations shattered by my stay there. Evidence shows that this review will probably be ignored as I am sure many before it have and my experience proves it.
