Husband and I went in June of 2015. It was VERY hot and humid & took some getting used to but I came home with the best tan ever! The resort is absolutely beautiful!!! We stayed at Akumal and got to use the other 3 resorts as well. Food was fantastic and staff was very friendly. A bit disappointed with the beach. Not like ours on the east coast of the USA. Tons of seaweed and no waves but the lagoon water was crystal clear and we didn't have to snorkel to see the fish although my husband did snorkel while I lounged on the beach. So great they come right to your chair to ask you what you want to drink. Tip them just $1 and they will keep you supplied for the rest of the day. The Mexican restaurant was wonderful as was the Brazilian restaurant. We took 2 side trips (they pick you up right at your resort) to Xcarat which was fun and also did the Mayan Encounter quite an experience!! You get to see the Mayan ruins climb the highest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula, zip-line, rapelle down into a cenote and get blessed by a Mayan priest deep into the jungle. Make sure you have plenty of Deet the mosquitoes are a terror in Mexico. We used Skin So Soft from Avon and it worked really well. We are going back on May 5th for Cinco de Mayo!! Although they don't celebrate it in Mexico like we do in the states we are definitely celebrating Tequila at our swim up bar. Night shows were "ok" but it was nice being in the air-conditioning and just relaxing at the end of the day. Wonderful vacation highly recommended!!!! Have fun if you decide to go!!!

Been to many all inclusives but this one has to be the best one yet. Great service, clean, and beautiful. Went here for my honeymoon and had a great time.

Room had an moldy odor when we arrived. Took several calls to get the a/c in the room fixed, mini bar items were hot. Everything else was OK. The one thing that was irritating was every employee has a communication radio, and all you hear is the radio, while at the pool, beach, in the restaurants on the way back to the room etc.. Maybe they should wear ear pieces so its less disturbing?

Overall, it was a nice place to visit. Reason for this review is to let the vistor aware to watch out his/her belongings all the time while relaxing down at the beach. I left behind my cell phone just about 5 minutes at the beach chair; it was never returned, or found. Basically, it was my fault to leave behind the cell phone, but there was any hotel guests except hotel employees nearby when I lost my smart phone as the time was rather late (around 5:30. P.M). Thus the chances of the employee who rearranged the beach chairs would pick up the phone is very high. The service manager was not eager to investigate his employees at all. May be he knows such an item would never be reported or return by his employees. Well as I said, it was my fault to leave the phone behind, but again this place was isolated. No outsiders are allowed to be in. Only guests and employees were there. Would any guest be interested to have other person's phone? I doubt so.
With this sour experience, I will never visit this place again. If you have to pay attention all the time for your belongings, you can not relax. If so, this is not a good place to relax.response / report this review -

Great place for a vacation, only regret was going home.
There was lots of bar and restaurant options, many pools, a cool little cove with plenty of sea life to swim with (even saw a small octopus), beautiful white sandy beaches.
Drinks where great food was good, both where plentiful. All the staff where friendly. We will definitely return.response / report this review
