We booked this through our Carnival cruise excursion and it was awesome. We opted for the VIP Experience and it couldn’t have been better. We were greeted with mint mojitos and a cool towel after the bus ride from ship. The dolphin experience was so fun, but the food and service were what really made it an A plus experience. The only negative is that you aren’t allowed to take your own pictures and they really try to rip you off as far as the picture pricing. But, overall we loved the entire experience.
We had the time of our lives at Dolphinaris Cozumel. We will always remember it! Free drinks free food wonderful memories! Our trainer was very good. We got to hold and play with the dolphin Aphrodite. I highly recommend it. The gift shop and pictures were a little pricey though. My family really enjoyed it and they accommodated my disabled wife. We look forward to going back again one day to share more memories.
Had a wonderful time here! First time swimming with dolphins. They trainers were excellent. Don't know if this is always what they do, but for us they paired our group with two dolphins - one younger and one older. They used the older and less energetic dolphin to engage with the small children and adults who were nervous around the animals, and the younger dolphin for the more confident adults.
Groups are mixed. They organize the groups of people who are travelling together first, and then pull the individuals and couples to fill the gaps. There is one-on-one interaction with the dolphins, but you just swim out to them a bit. You stay with your group and the trainer the whole time.
I gave it 4 stars because lunch wasn't all that impressive and the photo packages are also extremely expensive. Be ready to drop an additional $145+ if you want more than a couple photos. The photos are clear, but they aren't real great at capturing your best faces with the dolphins.
Overall good experience, and would recommend for a first time dolphin swim, but I'll be trying something different my next trip.
We had a lovely time there: interacting with dolphins was a childhood dream! We got to pet them, kiss them, play and swim with them, and one of them gave each of us a ride. We saw them jump 10 feet in the air and saw a baby dolphin. The reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because it seems that for the price you pay, the extras should not be so ridiculously expensive. For instance, renting a locker was $15 (we didn't do it, they also have places to stash your bags close to the swim area). They don't let you bring a phone or camera near the swim area, but will take pictures of you and charge $87 for just 3 of them. Or around $300 for the whole group pictures. They do have some free cafeteria-style foods, but they are very poor quality (french fries that smell of fish oil?). But the cove is beautiful and clean, the dolphins are very happy and well-trained, so that's what matters.
If you're visiting Dolphinaris as part of a shore excursion, do the VIP experience, you won't regret it. We had a smaller group (8 vs. 20), our own private area with an infinity pool, open bar and included lunch. We had 45+ minutes in the water with the dolphins, and the staff were amazing. As many people will tell you, they make their money off the pictures with the dolphins, so expect to pay insane prices ($100+ for 3-4 photos) if you want those. Other than that, the experience was one I'll never forget.
We technically did spend around 45 mins in the water with the dolphins. However the amount of interaction/person is relatively limited. We were all pulled through the water, kissed by, held, and touched the dolphin. Each of these things are done individually (meaning you spend the most of the time against the wall) for about two minutes at the maximum. The experience was good, mind you we spent the maximum amount. The cheapest package was very much lackluster. The prices are about 2 or 3 times what they should be. The prices of the photos & video packages are egregious. If you do this excursion, bring someone that will not get in the water so you aren’t paying $250us for 5 low quality photos. There is an overlook near the buffet where you can get a good vantage point for photos and videos.
Fantastic all inclusive experience here. Staff were great with my 5 year old daughter. We had a wonderful time, and prices were far more reasonable than other dolphin attractions.
A great place to bring the family to interact with, and even ride on top of, dolphins. We spent about 45 minutes in the water with the dolphins, with the remainder of our rime preparing to get in the water, and eating lunch afterwards. Lunch was pretty good. They had the option to kayak in their roped off cove, but the area was too small to be enjoyable. Be prepared to spend a lot off money on the pictures they take of your experience, if you choose to purchase them.
Really good experience with dolphins. Great people working with them. Only Mark against them would be the 'excursions', my daughter tried to take board and no one would help her. The snorkeling was like swimming in an aquarium, it is a small area.
I took my daughter and I must say that I was surprised how Jazzed I got once we were with the dolphins. Those things are HUGE!!!. It was pretty well organized. They broke up into groups and each group got to do something different. They were VERY strict about what you can bring with you. I even had to take my hat off, which got VERY hot under that Mexican sun. They ended the experience just in time because I was about to melt. My Daughter had a great time. The buffet was okjust ok. Be warned that where they get you is the pictures. Very expensive. If you want to save money have someone buy an OBSERVER ticket and have them take pictures and videos, because they wont let you take your camera with you in the pool. I guarantee the price of the observer ticket is a lot less than what you will spend on pictures. AnywayWe had a great time and I can check that off the bucket list.
Great food. Great service. Dolphins are very fun. Overall positive experience!
Very great VIP dolphin experience here. Was amazing touching and interacting with the dolphins and swimming with them. Trainers were very friendly and entertaining. Staff was friendly and helpful as well.
Loved it! Had fun! Pictures were expensive and they won't take a picture of more than 1 person in a "pose" with the dolphins. The meal was buffet style all you can eat/all you can drink. Glad we did it.
Easy to find, staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The food is great and they offer a VIP area with infinity pool overlooking the dolphins, full bar and staffalways choose this option! You won't regret it! The trainers are incredible and the quality of life is really great for these animals! I've done this excursion twice with huge skepticism before the first time and I'm now a repeat customer!
3 pictures cost $75!! And the pictures don't even come out great! So it's best if you have one of your friends out on the side to Record or take pictures! The dolphin ride is literally 5 seconds and you can't do it more then once! The food isn't that great either! I would not recommend this place to anybody! Unless you want to get ripped off !! (:
I don't understand where some of these reviews are coming from. They seriously make no sense. It's average. Do not book from the cruise you will save by just booking it yourself online or with an agent from Dolphinaris at the port. You will spend about 1 hour total and interact with the dolphins for 20 minutes. You kiss, pat, and ride them for about 5 seconds. The groups are large and most of the time is spent waiting for your turn. They take pictures. The pictures are very expensive, but the prices are not set and they will give you a 'secret deal, shhh don't tell anyone' is what they whisper. You can get all your photos for 100 bucks. The food is average. There is nothing else to do here, no snorkeling/swimming/beach. You can rent kayak for 15.00 but it was closed when we were there. This is an average dolphin experience. It's better in most other places. We didn't have a bad time but we would not go back.
THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!! We loved every minute of our time with the dolphins. 40 minutes in the water with them is plenty of time to kiss and dance with the dolphins, and then you can sit and watch them play for as long as you want while eating delicious Mexican food. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the place was clean and beautiful. By far the highlight of our trip!
We had such a great time! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My mom was too scared to do the swim with the dolphins so he let her do something else with them that way she still had an experience! The food was great and the drinks too!
SO FUN! WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY WE SPENT! My husband and I enjoyed this to the max! Swim with the dolphins - discounts on our photos b/c they insisted on selling them so we insisted on a discount and got a very good one :) - ate lunch - drinks for free - snorkeling!! What more could you ask for? it was paradise!
I went with no expectations and not sure I would like it. It was awesome! The staff is friendly, the dolphins are well cared for and the staff truly care about them but the facility was amazing. The snorkeling pool was filled with fish, sting rays and truly the best snorkeling I have done. We could also go kayaking and paddling boarding all with our 3 hour admission. Also included is free drinks and food. Best deal and experience. So glad I did it and will return in a heart beat.
