I have a trekking trip hold by Sam's family. They have good service and prepare things well.
Sam's trekking company offers some of the best quality trekking I've experienced in Asia. Nandar our guide for the 3 days 2 nights trek was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, hospitable, had an excellent English and answered every single of my questions about myanmar, village tribes and cultural stuff in general. I can't recommend her enough. Well done Sam's and thank you again Nandar
We arrived there early in the morning without booking and they accepted us for the three day trek the same day. Staff is very kind and helpful. The guide was great and he was speaking a very good English. Food during trek is the best we had in Myanmar. Would definitely recommend this agency for trekking.
First , I want to say is no more restaurant but very
good place to get trekking information . Uncle
Sam is now retired but his children run that business well . Most of the trekking guides are
from small villages and they were well trained .
When they do the trek , use to wear traditional costume is very attractive . Many tourists come
and deal with them , because of reasonable price .
Sam's Family trekking no longer offers a restaurant and has instead poured all of their efforts into creating a magical trekking experience with the most reliable and knowledgeable guides and the best home stays. Ask for Kalyar - she moved from her tribal village (Pah-Oo tribe) to Kalaw only three years and can provide intimate details of village life and culture. She provided wonderful meals - despite my husbands difficult and finicky dietary needs. We took the 2-day trek where we passed through villages, saw gorgeous vistas, were regaled with stories and myths from her culture and slept in a cozy and tidy homestay. A life-changer!
