Is not space enough to talk about this beautiful Boutique Hotel in the heart of the Medina? We booked here last minute hoping for a good service and value for money. I must say the place is over the top. From the first moment, Khadija who is the Manager offered us a full overview of the place and we had a fantastic chat with a local tea. She showed us the rooms and the facilities and explained us everything that we needed to know. The rooms are just amazingly decorated. Each of them with a personal touch and colours keeping the tradition but also the comfort. The rooms have incidental music that can be controlled as desired and is great for a good sleep and relaxation. The views from the rooftop are just amazing and are also the breakfast place. I wish we could have more time to spend in this luxury hotel with all the amazing people who work there. Our vacation to Morroco was unique thanks to all the love we received at Dar Chams Tanja. Thanks Khadija for all your personal attention!.

I wrote bad review for this hotel. However Dominique hotel manager came thru and fixed the problems. Also when he send me the email went to spam folder. Now all is good.
I made reservation yesterday August 28, 2017 around 6 AM Tangier time (10 PM my city) for two nights September 17 and 18. After putting all the information including credit cards, selected "Confirm reservation" key, the page took me to Hotel Shams home page, did not give the confirmation number, date reserved, total amount , and other required information. I called many times the two telephone number listed on the website, either no one picked the phone, or if it was picked was answered by recording that did not made any sense. I wrote two emails to the email address listed on the web site, have not heard from any one. I am frustrated and do not know if I have Hotel reserved or not. If not so I can reserve another hotel. Additionally they have my credit card information. I am not comfortable with this situation. Can anyone help me with this? any suggestions. Much appreciate. Cyrus

Nice location, nice owner, nicely decorated room, nice balcony and nice breakfast.
A no brainer if you want to have a lovely stay and keep the budget under control.

We wanted somewhere with a genuine feel of Morocco with losing the western comforts. This hotel fits the criteria exactly. It is a riad next to the kasbah with excellent views and welcoming hosts. The location was what we asked for and expected but is not suitable for anybody who can't manage a fair few steps.

Excellent property great owners Michael and Dominic owners are great people very helpful employees happy friendly great service property is clean well decorated homey with spectacular roof top views breakfast is delicious lady that makes it is so wonderful happy with the biggest smile location great city fabulous can't wait to go back highly recommend the place don't miss out

Amazing Dar, very well run with a friendly staff and tasteful decorations. Breakfast is served on the rooftop with a magnificent view of Tangier. Would stay here every night if I could!

Run by a wonderful couple, they paid attention to every detail. This lovely hotel in the medina is 10 minutes due north of Petit Socco.

The bed and linen are comfortable to sleep on, but it can be noisy at night. Keep those windows shut, especially if you get the Marrakechia room.

Spectacular hotel in the middle of the Medina. Rooms are beautifully decorated, staff are so helpful and nice, and has a great rooftop with gorgeous views of the city. Breakfast was delicious. Very reasonable prices, would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the city.
