Decent place to spend a quick night while traveling through.
Slightly sketchy part of town.
If you have heavy or lots of luggage, ask for lower floor or you'll be doing a workout.
Breakfast was decent, typical breads, pastries and egg with coffee, tea or orange juice.

If you want a good, clean and well-run hotel in Tangier, then Dar El Kasbah is just fine. It is located at the edge of the Medina on Rue de la Kasbah/Rue d'Italie and down the hill from one of the entrances to the Kasbah.

This hotel is not huge but the colonial-style building is impressive. There is no elevator so you may wish to request a room on a lower floor. Guests say the breakfasts are impressive, and there is a pleasant adjacent restaurant called La Terrace which is a pleasant place to eat outside under umbrellas and soak in the sun and the atmosphere of old Tangier.

The rates at Dar El Kasbah are very reasonable and the receptionist and other employees are friendly, courteous and helpful. There is a good strong WiFi connection.

Tricky paths but that's common in kasbahs. Besides the museum and the view over looking the city which is a sight in the day.. I can only imagine how lovely that will be at night, not much otherwise to see. A couple gems here and there that I maybe haven't discovered.

For $53 a night it's a good hotel as it's comfortable, clean & a good location. All the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and the hotel has free wifi with good connectivity. If you like eating lots of different types of bread for breakfast then the hotel breakfast is for you. I personally wasn't a fan as it was literally just different types of breads with condiments and there are a lot of flies around. There is also no elevator so if stairs are not your thing then ask for a room on the lower levels. The room was average sized with an small, old TV. The bathroom was nothing special either.
