Well located hotel in a quiet part of town but with easy access to the centre. Friendly staff, good reasonably price restaurant. Well appointed rooms, good facilities. Recommended
The rooms are well equipped, maintained and airconditioned. Also kept clean. Minibar refilled everyday.
Simple and clean interior, in a budget hotel for a premium price - guess it is the place which costs, as it is a 5 min walk across the bridge to the old town centre. I'd expect at least body milk and conditioner included in the bathroom consumables (even in Swiss you get that, in a more affordable hotel), but hey, here's only showrgel and shampoo for you :)
Still - clean, central, with skilled personnel, and underground parking for separate 25 euro/night
Just a 10 minutes walk to the city center. Comfortable bed, nice bar and a suitable gym. Helpful staff as well.
Stayed for two nights. The hotel is very central and close to most attractions in the city. The bus from the airport stops right around the corner, so very practical. We arrived quite late, but were greeted very warmly by the night staff. Club Accord status was recognised and we received an upgrade to an executive room. The room itself was large, clean, nicely furnished and had a very comfortable bed. We were quite pleased and slept like logs! Breakfast offered a good spread of cold and warm foods, and I especially appreciated the salmon, the tasty sausages, nice croissants and the waffle station. All in all, a very pleasant, well-staffed, clean and reasonably priced hotel that I can recommend without hesitation.
Decent location. Grocery store next door. Main downtown and restaurants close by, across the river. Hotel is decent, kind of spartan compared to US. no free breakfast. Not sure how much hotel costs.
Good property. Kinda small rooms. All basic amenities are present. The gym is very basic & nothing to write home about. The restaurant is also good - breakfast spread is very good. Location wise - its bang at the city center. There is a small supermarket called Cactus about 5-7 min walk away from this hotel. Overall a descent property. I had a comfortable & hassle free stay.
4 starts for the staff friendliness. Room was tired and the shower stall and floor where dingy and omitted a smell. Also the separation of the toilet and sinks was odd. Bed was comfortable and the facility was nice. In hotel restaurant was very nice but a bit over priced.
Very nice and centrally located hotel. It's about a 10 minute easy walk to the train station, from which you can go in day trips to nearby towns. There's also a bus stop nearby where you can board bus 29 to the airport. If you are in for work in the Kirchberg area, you'll have to take a cab there or use the bus. Walking can take 45 minutes.
The plumbing system needs a little upgrading for cold winters. When neighbours turn on their taps, you get a short burst of cold water from the shower.
I’m here on holiday With my family, 2 children. Beautiful hotel, family friendly. 5 minutes walking from the main streets of the city. Bus stop very close. Staff is very professional and even kind, human. Rooms modern and comfortable, all very clean. My next trip to Luxembourg, I will stay here again.
Great hotel with comfortable rooms, and great service. Location near the centre was also a great advantage.
great experience. staff are friendly and helpful. spacious and comfortable rooms.
I have been in many Arcor Hotels so far. The Novotel Luxembourg was mediocre at the best. While the service attitude of the entire staff was okay, despite some minor flaws, I cannot give any better rating as the hardware of the rooms is way below average. I have been at better IBIS Hotels.
Nice hotel, as you would expect from Novotel. Good location, near the city center. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Definitely will be going back.
The hotel is in a great location, with amazingly friendly staff. They went out of their way to make the experience awesome for our children and we really loved that. Thanks so much for the great trip
We stayed here (family of 4) for one night on our way home from Italy. We have stayed at many Novotel hotels but this one stands out as the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, speaking very good English. The breakfast was much better than other Novotels - there seemed to be more staff clearing up and restocking food, the food selections was very good and plentiful.
We parked in the underground car park and although we arrived quite late there were plenty of spaces. Tip - if you are staying for less than 24 hours it's cheaper to pay in the car park direct, you can pay via the hotel reception but they charge per day so the minimum charge is 26 euros (we pad 14 euros).
Room was clean and comfortable.
This is a good hotel downtown. I had dinner at the bar in the evening and service was very good. However the service at breakfast left a bit to be desired. I was there for at least over 30 minutes and my used dishes were not cleared up although the personnel were clearing some tables very promptly. I could see that some other tables, interestingly with solitary women having breakfast, were not being cleared and used dishes were piling up. Obviously service at breakfast is "selective"
I visit this hotel often for work trips and it is quite good as it is in central Luxembourg and close to work and most places you'd want to go in Luxembourg. Getting a cab in the morning is easy. More importantly, the rooms are great, and the bed linen smell as fresh adn crisp as if new, and I have never found a reason to want anything. The front desk staff are wonderful and provide support with almost anything (my own examples from the past four years of travel there - finding a pharmacy, tracking down a phone left in a cab, charging my phone, searching for a pair of glasses I left at the breakfast table). I simply would not try any other place in Luxembourg.
If I could recommend one area of improvement, it is the restaurant menu. The menu has been standard for some time, and it needs a breath of freshness, perhaps a dish of the day or daily chefs menu or the likes. I can pretty much order blindly without looking at the menu now, and that is probably is a sign it needs some changes. The food is great, good quality and quantity (american sized portions).
The hotel location was just a short walk from the sights and restaurants in center of town. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel itself is in a good shape and the breakfast is also very good.
The only reason why I rated 7 is that the aircon in the separate bathroom was running the whole night. This was so noisy that I could barely sleep. I think it would be great if you could work on that.
From the moment we stepped through the front door of the Novotel Luxembourg Centre, we experienced excellent service. Everyone we spoke to whether at reception, housekeeping, or in the restaurant was, friendly, helpful and very polite. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with a wide selection of choices. Dinner was also quite good. The only thing that I would change, would be the choices on the Discovery Menu.
Great location. Quiet, no noises from the surrounding neighbourhood but yet, the hotel was only a few minutes walk from the main train station, busses, shopping and entertainment. A little longer walk across the bridge and you are in, what I call, the historic or museum district. Great!
The Luxembourg Pass was included in the price for the room. This was such a great thing to include. Although we tried, there was no way that we could have seen all there was to see with the pass.
On my next trip to Luxembourg City, I will definitely stay at this hotel again!!
The experience was very good but spoilt slightly at the end. The package of breakfast and diner and the Luxembourg card was excellent. The only problem was that I had booked late check out at 5pm on the Sunday. That was not on the 'system' . Even after showing my confirmation email , the 'system' was changed to reflect the late check out. Hence my room key stopped working and I kept getting knocks on the door from the cleaning staff. Front office should have handled it better after I proved that I had a late check out!
Nice rooms. Nice staff. Food is too expensive. No good breakfast options. The "kid's room" is bull. It's a tiny corner of the lobby with a couple rickety benches some old blocks, and a TV that's not on.
ALSO: Check your bill! The hotel defaults to charging you for their crappy 20€ breakfast every morning, for every person in the room, even if you don't want it, and you have to complain to get it taken off. This wasn't a one-time thing. The guy at check-out said that this is just how their system works. If we hadn't been vigilant, we'd have paid an extra 80€ for our two night stay.
Over eight stays in the Accor brand hotels. This Novotel was clean inviting and safe. The staff attempts to make transitions in and out a breeze. no early check in even with notice before hand. Two separate transactions for the hotel bill and parking. The Nespresso was a make and model not which our pods we brought would not work, a heads up would have been great. It's the little things that make a nice stay a great stay. This was just a nice stay. Why hotels no longer provide wash cloths I don't know. Maybe thats a good thing? Anyway, location is great too.
The drinks were very pricy (starting from 12 euros for a glass of wine), but it was a trendy bar with good views over the city.
Overall quite unsatisfactory stay - much lower service quality than I had expected from Novotel. Check-in took almost half an hour, it was so long it was almost funny. Service in the restaurant was almost as slow - we sat at the table for 15 minutes without being greeted and had to wave down a waiter. We had poor service throughout the meal and nearly missed a meeting, despite continually telling the staff we needed to leave within 1.5 hours. Breakfast in the room was also terrible - fruit plate was just one unripened kiwi The room and hotel itself not particularly nice, although location is good.
We will stay elsewhere next time.
Clean and decent hotel. Only 15 minutes walk from the historic centre and bars/pubs. The Russian cafe is close and offers great food. If you come by car, try to park it in a side street during the weekends. Parking on the street is free after 18:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays and saves you 25 euros/day.
