A nice beach front resort at unawatuna. Have two pools and following outdoor activities yoga, beach volleyball, free scuba diving lessons. Daily buffet consists of indian , srilankan, european dishes including pizza and seafoods. Only disadvantage is no same day laundry service for business travellers on short trips.

Great location, good rooms, good facilities I believe there was 2 pools that I saw, they offer free scuba lessons which is pretty cool even though I didn’t take part in it. Looked like they had kayaks and other water sports activities I was unable try this season.

It is the best resort in Unawatuna I would say, food is very nice and they have better combination of different cousins.People who seek relaxation, in a holiday,can choose it without hesitation.

This beach is amazing for sunset. Make sure you reach here atleast ten minutes before the sunset.

One of the best beach resorts in Unawatuna of the Galle District in Sri Lanka. Clean rooms, washrooms, wait area and garden. The staff as well the Director are very entertaining. Quite an impressive place

The place was great, huge rooms with an ocean view, nice breakfast and lot of open space around the place to relax. I would take away the last star for the price though.. Quite pricey (120$ for a room)

My context is as a local visitor, and could differ if it's for a overseas guest.
Access - easy since it's not that far from the highway exit from Galle, also is quite close to the main road
Rooms - got one one the second floor , not sea view. A bit cramped but decently kitted. Double room included a sofa that is a folding bed. This is good if u have kids. Had a 32" led to with SLT Peo TV. Can keep you entertained decently but Low res quality. AC worked well. Included a hair dryer, desk with chair , and a small balcony with a tiny table and two arm chairs. Only a limited no of sea view rooms
Beach - yes large one with a nice island in front. Many privateers activities such a jet skiing, skuba diving, coral reef rides, etc.
Food - buffet was decent but as a guest it can be confusing. Loads of action stations that make food for order that is outside the buffet, and the same stations also provide a cut down version for buffet guests. So ask before your eat or drink , specially important with kids who might server unknowingly. Deserts are average. Has a very good local menu option.
Facilities - swimmingly pool. Has two , the smaller glass pool is good doe photos as you can take photos that are like taking photos at the aquarium 😁 the bigger blood red pool is also used for skuba diving training (additional pay). They also have badminton (open area) and yoga. They have a small library.
Staff - helpful
Disable friendly - not great in the older building, but the newer one that is away from the beach near the red pool maybe better. There were a few garden view rooms in the older section that maybe disability friendly
For locals more than a day may not be great, but for overseas guest this is a great location.response / report this review -

Sadly they have a very unstable Service. View is absolutely fantastic. The beach, 50 m in front of the Hotela dream! The Buffet for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner could be much better. All in all not enough for the price. By the waythey renamed to Calamander Hotel recently.

Good rooms and good restaurant on the beach hotel at Unawatuna Beach. Famous in the area. Full of foreigners and famous place with foreigners.

Great beach resort, beautiful property and we'll maintained, spacious rooms and great view. The restaraunt serves pretty good complimentary breakfast and a marvelous view . Sadly if you arrive in after 10pm you cant't get any food and anything nearby either.

Nice long beach, no public changing rooms/toilets, restaurants and hotels close to the beach, possible to go snorkeling or trip in a boat.

Sunday Lunch buffet very disappointing, no salads, long waits, limited choice, expensive for what you get at other hotels. Pools good but 1000 rupees for visitors. Suggest try elsewhere.

Overall the resort is beautiful and well maintained. The pools are nice and diving lesson was fun as well. As you might see others complain about the food, they are rather right. The food is definitely not the best I've eaten. The staff is nice tho, very Sri Lankans.

This resort wasn't what i was expecting, it is nice enough but lacked the final touches that would have made it great. When i travel i want to experience the local environment and culture, when you walk into the dining area, over looking the Indian sea, and see a sign that says they are serving 'Full English Breakfasts, it puts me right off. Overall though it was a very nice place for the one night i stayed there, nice rooms and great bathrooms with a jacuzzi bath. The bar was on the beach and the restaurant area is well sited overlooking the beach and sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Clean and nice. You will find more foreigners than locals. Many options for restaurants. After 6pm every restaurant have an open air grill for different same day fished sea food

Beach has coarse sand but will nice, ocean is very calm & warm. Beach staff can at times be aggressive but we did not have any problems. Can be quiet during the week when no party is on. Amazing place to watch the sunset from the hill!
