    Old Charm

Famed as one of the oldest restaurants in the country, if not Galle at least. My experience here has been pleasant. Good food. Relaxed atmosphere.

An amazing hotel and a great place to stay. It's "old school" and charming. Rooms are great and the service is extraordinary.

Beautiful building with many original floors and antiques, stunning rooms and terraces everywhere you go. Bedrooms are equally lovely. Amangalla suite is large and comfortably appointed. Spa is excellent with great private baths facilities and the restaurant is good quality with superbly executed Sri Lankan food. Fab views of Galle Fort with a sunset terrace on top floor to view sunset.

Dropped in for an evening drink and stayed for a bottle of wine and light meal!
Gorgeous place in the colonial style, so much history and very welcoming. Hashsha (sic) in particular provided friendly and excellent service. Look forward to returning.

One of the best hotels to stay to relive the golden age of travel! Built in 1684, the hotel is an institution in Sri Lanka and exudes the understated grandeur and elegance of a bygone era.

Expensive, yet you pay top dollar to experience what it is to be an English colonist. If you are into that kind of thing - ideal for you

Beautiful colonial experience. We ate in the restaurant- great service, good range of foods, a little on the pricey side. Expect to pay ~£50 for dinner without drinks.

Lovely place for a coffee or tea whilst visiting the fort.

What a beautiful historical building and the rooms are stunning. We enjoyed staying here and we had the best butler helping us with everything. They have a great spa and the complementary yoga class was excellent. We also enjoyed the cooking class at the rice paddy.

The only reason why they are not getting five stars is because the service level is not perfect. We are a big fan of Aman resorts and there are rooms for this place to improve.

Great place for an evening meal in Galle. It's a proper restaurant, so expect almost 'European' prices. The Curry platter is excellent at 3,000 rupees through ; 6 or 7 curry dishes plus dessert.
