Nice getaway for half a day for snorkeling. Enjoyed the boat ride and the friendly crew. Great place to watch the pristine corals and a plethrora of colorful fish underwater. If you are lucky you could see some sharks as well. I wish the newbies were given some instructions on how to use the snorkel as i saw several people struggling with the snorkeling kit.

An excellent place to observe underwater corals and their associated aquatic animals.
It is accessible only by boat, but the best times to go there is early in the morning, as more fish can be seen. They even offer glass bottomed boat tours and provide diving gear, except that the gear is not sterilized before. But it's a great place.👌

Lovely place to visit and spend some hours or a full day. Recommend to gear up with food and water. Beach is lovely island runs by navy. Need to buy tickets and hire a boat which i think the rates are reasonable.

We enjoyed the trip with family including our 4 year old daughter. The beach on both sides is relaxing with mild waves and easy access to sea. You can see shallow coral on south-west and occasional shark and turtle. I did scuba diving too but the visibility was not so good.

Extremely Beautiful small remote island to be accessed from Nilaveli beach. You must take tickets and permission from Wildlife Office on shore. Must take a boat ride of 10minutes to the Island. Costs around Rs.1500. They will come back to pick you up once you want to leave the island as you give a call.
Beautiful beach with Brilliant diving spot on the middle of the island. Crystal clear shallow waters full of colorful fish. You can spend hours diving here. Suitable for all ages as full time life guards are on the watch.

It was great. The place was just amazing and the corals were so beautiful. Please DO NOT take the corals because it means so much to SL. Please do not. People need to go there to see the beauty of it. Enjoyed very well. DO NOT go if the sea is rough but if you don't have any other choice, then you go!

This is a beautiful island with clean water and perfect for snorkel, lots of beautiful fish, star fish and amazing coral. The island is stunning with white sand. Highly recommend it for a day trip.
PS bring your own snack because there’s no food there to buy, normally the resort around makes a take way box with fruits etc. Have fun

It's a very good place enjoy. Be aware of your children and property. It's better if you make your visit as group rather than a single couple.

A beauty and cool spot, you can have snorkelling and see coral reef and colorful fish. Just be aware of availability of Sharks there. You can make your skin suntanned as well.

Clean beach with lovely location. If you like to visit you must travel from the boat. The boat ride is so crazy. If you like to visit it's your choice but please don't do any harmful things to the nature.

Good snorkeling spot. Got the chance of swimming with couple of sea turtles, and also spotted couple of sharks. Coral though, is very destroyed I've seen much better places in that regard. Not so colorful as there is a lot of dead coral. Beach was clean but not sandy, broken coral makes it difficult to walk barefoot.

Very nice to swim with sharks, we also saw 1 turtle but most people did not.

Pay attention to the season before you go, the sea could be rough which’ll make snorkeling hard.

4 stars because there’s an admission fee for no reason at all, the government did not contribute in any way for imposing this fee.

The most beautiful corals in the world exist right here under the water surrounding Pigeon island. With fish, coral, sharks, turtle and an absolutely majestic beach Pigeon Island is a treat unmatched. The one suggestion for everyone is to go there as early as possible in the morning to avoid the rush. Nothing like a peaceful snorkeling session under the rising sun.

Absolutely gorgeous place, the views are amazing, we went snorkeling around the place and there was so many types of fish to see, only problem being, I don't think there's enough watch over the people that can't swim or go too far, and last time I saw a Moray eel and that's a very dangerous animal but they allow people to swim around the area.

It's a very beautiful place to visit. Not many land animals but rich in marine life. Clear water and the best place to snokle. The hike around the island is beautiful.

Be mindful not to harm the corrals or the marine life. Also do not litter. Already the corals have been damaged closer to the beach and some polythene bags are lying around. I hope the authorities regulate the tourism to this island..
