Great Park. And check the Temple 2km before Park entrance. The view and road to is better them from Adam's peak (at least small one for sure)

An isolated and not crowded national park because of it's remoteness. If you managed to visit anyway it will be a worthy one. A paradise for birders but you may see sloth bears or leopards if you are lucky..

Had a rare sighting of a full grown leopard right by the road side!!! Plenty of birds in the morning. Kids enjoyed the visit thoroughly.

Drive to the entrance is around 15 kilometres which is slightly off putting. However, without question the best safari in Sri Lanka in my opinion. Doesn't attract a large crowd, rather far but worth the extra drive. The terrain isn't as rugged as expected, lush scenery, breathtaking views and the tour guides help making it quite an informative experience as well. The tour takes around 4 hours in total to complete, during which a vast range of wildlife can be seen.

Kumana National Park in Sri Lanka is renowned for its avifauna, particularly its large flocks of migratory waterfowl and wading birds. The park is 391 kilometres (243 mi) southeast of Colombo on Sri Lanka's southeastern coast. Kumana is contiguous with Yala National Park. Kumana was formerly known as Yala East National Park, but changed to its present name in 5 September 2006.

A museum and a beautiful lake locate near the park entrance. You should be buy tickets to enter to park.

Very good destination for bird watching and animal lovers. Not very crowded during week days. Advisable to hire a safari jeep rather than driving your own vehicle.

This is one of few quiet. Not over run or exploited National Parks on the island. Migrant birds are the best attraction. Larger animals are hard to spot or encounter as they are still very shy of humans.
Unlike other parks where they are fed. This is not a zoo but raw Nature. As it should be.
