Well maintained station, newly renovated, busy at morning and evening, toilets are clean easy access to the platform with stairs and a slope. need more emphasis to accessibility of wheelchairs. have a community maintained library which is a good initiative. looks nice and clean with friendly staff. kind of placed away from the main city.overall one of the best stations.

easiest way to travel to colombo. less traffic, & economical, from kottawla you can reach colombo with on 50 mins in even in the morning or evening. there is no traffic unless if there is any delay or technical issue on the rail road. it will run untill awissawella, earlier the train was started from opanayaka, but unfortunately now it runs up to awissawella only

The station can facilitate 2 trains at once..one of best beautiful railway stations in the kalenivaley railway line..situated little bit away from the kottawa city near the kottawa -malabe /athurugiriya road.

With the expansion of the rail track to broad gauge, train service imprived and, actually the number of passengers who use railway has increased.However, the facilities given to the commuters also should be increased.
