It's a locally family owned establishment providing continous excellent service. The hotel was built during the french colonial days which gives it a pre-war feeling. Furniture in the hotel I believe is made from local teak and has a really heavy feel to it. Amazing craftsmanship even the cafeteria tables , chairs, room and lobby furniture.
American and local buffet breakfast is included in the room price.
Location is about 15 minutes drive to downtown by free hotel shuttle.Last shuttle back to hotel is at 10 p.m.
In the evening after 6 p.m. the main drag closes at both end of the street and a night market opens up offering some street food but mostly local handicraft, textiles and sovenier items of the local culture. For purchasing to haggle is acceptable and money exchangers on the street is avaliable. Vendors do accept USD but local Laos (pronounced 'Lao' the 's' is silent) currency is called kip.
From airport it takes approximately 45 minutes by cab.
The business owner educated in the UK is conversant in English. I was told he graduated in economics.
I will definitely make another visit to Luang Prabang located by the river where tall buildings hasn't existed yet.
My travelling partners describe the town as a time capsule where progress has decelerate to where local life style is stress free. This is a personal opinion that is gathered after speaking to several locals. My comment in short, quote: Everyday is a Sunday.

A family-owned and -ran hotel, a bit far away from the city, but it provided free regular shutter services or bicycles to the city.

Excellent service, the owner and his mother were very kind and provided us with everything that we needed.
There was air-conditioning and strong wifi, along with free bicycles and shuttle service. Altogether it was the best hotel we had been to in Laos. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent service from Phone, his mum and the staff at the hotel, all our needs for information and bookings for taxis, tours and dinners were provided for efficiently and easily.
The accommodation is nice and clean, the room comes with air-conditioning (a must!) and we also enjoyed free wifi.
Great place for the family!
