It's a hostel made in traditional Japanese style.

Simple guesthouse. Bed, washing facilities, kitchen. Old style wooden Japanese house that has had rooms made into dorms. Small family run business.

if you are looking for a real Japanese experience this is the right place. It is basically an old house converted as an hostel. Great atmosphere!

Beautifully designed with traditional Japanese styling, this building, hidden in a quiet area of Taito-Ku, was recently built specifically as a hostel. It is a clean, inviting place with good facilities and a friendly staff, no more than 15-30 minutes walk from many attractions, including Ueno park, Tokyo Skytree and Sensō-ji.The first attempt to find may be a little difficult, especially at night, but it's well worth the trouble! Stay here!

The guesthouse is in an old, traditional Japanese house and was a delight to stay in for that fact. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in the double room. We slept on a queen-sized futon. No cons about this place for us - it was clean, quiet and a quaint experience. Wonderful as a base to return to after a day out sightseeing. Heating via aircon is only available in the rooms, so you will have to brave the cold (we visited in autumn) whenever you leave the room for the toilet, shower or sink. Not an issue unless you're a creature of comfort!

Tip 1: To get here, take bus 9 from bus berth B1 at Kyoto Station. Alight at Shimotorida-cho. About 30mins. After alighting, turn left at the first corner and left again! It is in a back alley.

If you love camping , this is the place. I stayed during November, 2015 and it felt like sleeping on the street in winter. I couldn't sleep cuz room temperature was around 11 degree celcius with maximum heating. If you somehow survived the night, you have to go out to take shower. But since you're in Osaka, Japan, you will find nice Onsen not very far.

This place was OK. The best thing about the guest house is that it's in a traditional Japanese house, which was definitely a cool experience. Unfortunately there don't seem to be lockers of any kind and the Wi-Fi is open, so the security sucks. The location really isn't ideal either, seeing as the guest house is far from both the city centre and Kyoto station. Lastly there are no good common spaces, so it's hard to meet people and hang out. It's not a bad place, but I also don't think I would stay here again.
