  Mountain is closed in December to March.

  Great views of both Nara and the mountains. Definitely walk up to the third peak for a chance to see the wild deer

  The place was peaceful with lovely view of the city of Nara. We visited here in July but it was very nicely covered with green and we enjoyed the fresh air as well. The drive up to the mountain was also fun (it was 520 yen round trip to the mountain)!
  Unlike the deers in the Nara Park, the ones in the mountain were calm and were all busy eating the grasses. We found it kind of cute.
