Have never stayed a night at the hotel, but have eaten at its cafe and attended events in its event halls. Staff is courteous, location is a few minutes walk from the station, and the hotel is connected to the Apita complex, which includes a grocery store, debt store, shops, and a movie theater among other things.

Okay, I come to Yokkaichi for work and I usually stay at Miyako.

To start off with, Industrial town of Yokkaichi has absolutely nothing to do. And that's not the hotel's problem. Hotel just sits there. It's not like it has arms to build amusement park or bars in Yokkaichi so I can't really blame the hotel.

However, I can dislike the hotel for having unventilated small rooms and lack of gym or swimming pool or any facilities in general. I've been to an industrial town in Taiwan with nothing to do. But other hotels in industrial cities have a gym or a pool or a bar.

As always Japanese are very polite, but as an English speaker I have really hard time communicating with the staff. Being in a foreign country I can't really blame them for not knowing English, but dammit, it makes things very inconvenient (You can just imagine all the charades going on here).

I can't say this hotel is horrible (0), but I also can't in good conscience say it's good either. If I could choose 0.5 rating, it would be more realistic.
