  Pros: Very good location. A short walk away from Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park, and within the walking distance to Gion, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Nishiki Market, and other shrines and temples in the Gion area. The place were clean and well-kept. Owner and staffs were very welcoming and tried their best to make my stay comfortable. They occasionally hold some special events; I was fortunate to be able to enjoy an hour of real maiko performance, complimentary to all staying guests. Will definitely return.
  
  Cons: Slightly far from the nearest train station. No meals are provided. (Dinner might not be that much of an issue as there are a lot of good restaurants nearby, but the options for breakfast are limited. They did provide complimentary instant noodles, packaged sandwich, snacks, and fruits. I saved those for breakfast for the next morning.)

  We loved staying at this beautiful property. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and generous.
  It was our first time sleeping on the floor in Japan and we thought it was more comfortable than the hard beds in regular hotels. We were provided with lots of food and drink at no extra charge and one of the highlights was the Maiko (Kyoto apprentice Geisha) presentation in the evening which was also free of charge. We had the opportunity to not only watch the beautiful dances but also meet, take photos, ask questions and play a game with the Maiko. The hosts also provide food and drink for free during this presentation. We felt so lucky and honored to be able to attend and participate in this event and to stay at such a wonderful and unique property.

  I've been to this ryokan 2-3 times already and the last visit was last year with my mom. I really enjoyed my stays and pretty convenient in my opinion.

  A fantastic experience of Japanese culture. I stayed here with my wife and her family and loved the experience. The food and service cannot be compared to anything else. Kyoto is absolutely amazing in the spring.

  Great location in the middle of Gion, close to many temples. Staff are extremely nice and hospitable which makes all the difference and speak decent English, very warm hosts during our stay. Not luxurious but comfortable, would recommend!
