  It could use a refresh The walls need a scrubbing. The front reception was a bit short with me Kinda surprising when other reviewers rated them so highly.
  
  I feel bad saying this, but I found the decor really cheesy. I'm sure they put a lot of effort into it, but the effect was just off.

  Beautiful and scenic hotel with underground chapel. Perfect for a small wedding.
  Hotel room is small, but very good for stay. Staff speaks English fluently

  Large bedroom and big bathroom. But building is quite old. Paint in bathroom is peeling off. Room was too warm (room temperature control not working) yet bedding is not layered (one thick blanket).

  A very classy place with distinctive look. Rooms are definitely spacious compared to other Japanese hotels we have stayed. The facility is quite limited though: no ice maker, no on-site laundry, etc. The location is great. About 5 min walk to Sannomiya Station (三宮車站), which is a major transportation/shopping/dining hub in Kobe. A lot of things to do in the area. Would recommend anyone who wants to have a unique experience in Kobe on the budget.

  Great classic building with a lot of style. No actual AC due to age, but stay was ultimately worth it.
