I visited in November 2016. No wonder at all to me that this is one of the 'Wonders of the World'. The scale and condition of the ruins is something to behold. If you have the opportunity to visit Petra, you should do it.

A guide will help you get most out of the site - this was build nearly 2,000 years ago! They believe it was a religious complex that had crypts, annexes and living space - plus workshops! Recently they found out that an earthquake in the area damaged the structure in the year 363! Yet - we can still see it today. Amazing.

The temple was mostly ruins and said to keep away because of the unstable structure. It was nice thought to see the spectrum of preservation in Petra
