I stayed at this resort for 7 days in April 2018 and had a fantastic time. The staff is incredible and very accommodating. The entertainment both day and night is GREAT. The Michael Jackson showcase was the best for me. The food was good and I couldn't help myself but to indulge. The bars were kept busy with serving drinks. i have to big up Damian in the port royal, The guys at the jerk hut and burgers area staff, the ladies at the buffet for being an amazing. The 3 specialty restaurants I tried I enjoyed . I am looking forward to return and keep up the good work. One LOVE!
This was a wonderful vacation spot. This hotel caters to everyone, young adults with and without children as well as senior citizens. There is a private pool with a swim up bar for adults only. A large pool for everyone to enjoy. A beautiful small island that you can access by walking in waist high sea water. The hotel offers the usual free water sports activities such as snorkeling, paddle boat and canoeing. Food was delicious. Lots of variety for breakfast and lunch, dinner menu was limited though. Numerous snack shop around the premises with unlimited food such as Jerk Chicken and Pork, Burgers, hot dog etc. Night time live entertainment as well as a night club on the premises. The staff are very friendly and entertaining. I enjoyed myself immensely and would definitely go back to Holiday Inn again. I would have given them a 5 star but I am not pleased with the limited options on the dinner menu. Overall I think this is a beautiful and relaxing vacation spot and highly recommend everyone to try it.
One of the better All inclusive hotels in the Montego area. It’s away from the town areas making the experience even better. The rooms are great, spacious, efficient and clean and the staff members are really helpful and friendly. A key feature this resort has is that it boasts an beautiful island that you can sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful sun. It’s always better to get your drink or food before you walk/swim over to the island.
The food is good but not great but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Apart from the all inclusive sections they do have third party restaurants that you can enjoy for dinner.
The resort is also good for conferences as they have beautifully decked out areas that are very efficient for the biggest of conferences. Overall it was a great experience here and I highly recommend it for family visits.
We had a great time here, I felt safe within the area of the hotel. Everyone was very friendly, the food was good. The water is so beautiful. The best part was being able to safely snorkel right off the shore, the fish were beautiful, I was not afraid to be in the water with my family. The hotel provides you with snorkel goggles for a limited time each day. If you have your ownbring them, it is worth it. While we were there, we did pay to take a tour of the waterfalls, you walk up this beautiful waterfall with guides, would not recommend for very small children or elderly, but it is quite breath taking! Our guide took us to a local restaurant for jerk chicken, was a good experience.
This Holiday Inn has been the best Holiday Inn that I've been to. The rooms were spacious but standard. Furniture and fixtures could have used updating. The food was good but not great. Variety of food was sufficient but after the third day, we started to get bored with the menu. The best restaurant in the resort was the Chicken Hut (located on the beach) where you can get jerk chicken and/or pork along with their pepper sauce! The resort is that it's big and spacious. It also has great beach access. The waters were calm and warm. The resort also has a small island that you could walk to. On the island are lounge chairs for you to lay down and relax. Make sure you order & bring your food/drinks to bring over to the island; otherwise, it will be a long walk back!
The beach is okay, not the best in Jamaica. The buffet is horrible, out of all of the times I've been to Jamaica I've never once complained about the food well that changed at the Holiday Inn. Little variety and plain. The specialty restaurant are good and ate most dinner upstairs. The jerk hut is far from authentic jerk. The snack bar is good, the drinks do their jobs. The check in process was hell and I paid for an upgraded room and was not available upon arrival and took lots of effort to get them to honour it. This resort is far from a 4 🌟. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for another resort.
I must add the staff is great
Holiday Inn is still one of Jamaica's finest resorts. We had a great time during our stay and we were impressed by how friendly the staff were. The meals and entertainment were first class. We believe though that it's time for some upgrades, particularly as it relates to the bathrooms and patio doors. The parking situation could be better too as we have to walk a bit after parking to get to our room and it's even more complicated if you have stuff to take to your room. Otherwise, it was still a great experience!
3 generational family Christmas (6yrs to 53yrs old). All of us had a blast. Numerous activities available in and out of the water. Adults only area, kids club, family areas. Hotel able to assist in daily excursions off site including personal taxi drivers who assisted to all our desires. Numerous food selections including gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian. Wish the pool hours were until 10pm rather than 6pm; otherwise, Holiday Inn did it right!
Been to many all inclusive, this a 3 by comparison. Beautiful beach. Facilities are good. Do not get a room by bandstand. You will not get any peace until 2am.
Food is so so. Mostly all fresh fruit is imported with a rather bland taste. Some of the local stews were good.
Jerk shack is best.
Went with my family and we had a really great time, great food and friendly staff. Gorgeous beach with nice shallow water you can walk for miles and there is a coral reef near by. Tons of things to do and pretty much everything is included. They have a really cool kids center that has activities happening everyday and they have babysitting all included. It does need a little bit of renovating here and there but is a nice place and will definitely be coming back.
Husband and I stayed for 5 days.
5 out of 5 (5/5): Check-in was easy and the office workers were friendly.
4 out of 5 (4/5): The room was decent and we had a great view. They honored my request of a quiet room. The shower was smallwe than we liked and they could have cleaned the cobwebs. But, they didn't bother us none so we didn't complain.
4/5 Food was good. The burgers were flavorful. The bar that served "jerk" chicken and pork was tasty and the workers were quick and effective. We just wished the jerk sauce was actual jerk sauce and not the Asian garlic chili sauce. The hot dog stand area didn't always have items (no hot dogs, ice cream machine wasn't working, popcorn wasn't ready etc). Also, service was super slow there because there was only one person working most days. She did really well though and was friendly.
We loved the reservation only place called the De Terrace. The oxtails and desserts were amazing! Service was decent but wish they served Sorrel for the holidays.
5/5 Check out was effortless.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The great staff and fun activities will have us coming back!
I love it here. Home away from home. I've been here 3 times and it's the best. The people are so nice and the hotel is clean. I plan to come back next year with all my family.
Nov. 26 - Dec. 3, 2017.
The resort was lovely, clean and well kept. It is small and everything is close by, the beach, buffet, Jerk Hut, bars, etc.
The staff were friendly and house keeping came into our room everyday.
There are no mini fridges in the rooms but you can request one.
The water is not recycled and you can drink the water from the tap in your room. No tummy troubles at all!
We had problems with our safe and room keys. The front desk and maintenance took care of it right away. The front desk even called after to make sure that everything was working properly.
The beach water is clear and calm. Definitely kid friendly. There was a lot of weeds in the water.
There was always something to eat. The breakfast buffet was from 7am to 10am. Then the Barefoot bar started serving food at 11am. Hamburgers, grilled cheese, and fried fish. At noon the Jerk Hut served jerk pork and chicken. So yummy.
We will go back.
The property has good features was obviously a star in its heyday. It is lacking in keeping up to date with room amenities etc. Food choices lack variety but are good for the numbers provided. Entertainment wasn't bad but wasn't all that. Other guests looked fairly bored throughout my stay.
I enjoyed it for what it was nonetheless.
Loved it. Weekend well spent. However they need to sort out their elevators. Shouldn't the floor numbers light up, there is a little there right and it should tell you what floor you are heading to it passing.. There's is broken! Get it fixed please. Loved the pool and it safe for younger children too. That mini island they have is cool. Good place to bring your family for your first trip to Jamaica. Now it's time for me to head home and I feel relaxed thanks Holiday Inn
I had a lovely stay at this resort (Oct '17 , would highly recommend this. The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Entertainment was good for all ages and the food fantastic catering for all tastes including authentic Jamaican cuisine. Will definitely stay there again
Very nice hotel that provides a great getaway to relax from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. The daily menu could be expanded a bit though. I enjoy myself on every visit and always look forward to going back there to relax and have a little fun.
We had a great time. Good food at the buffet ,was very fresh and delicious with lots of local options. Room was well kept and very comfortable. Shout out to our favorite peopleDamion in the VIP lounge was amazing! Also Paul who helped us to our room.
We will be back one daynext time we'll bring the kids.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Resort. Our room had a great view of the swimming pool and beach. The A/C worked wonderfully. I would often tell my wife it was like walking into the arctic after a day spent on the beach. The bathroom was small but not uncomfortable. The rest of the room was nice with all the regular stuff. The entertainment was amazing. The buffet was delicious. Some times I wished there was more variety but they surprised me with what they had. The restaurants they offer are pretty darn good as well. We tried the Sea food and the Japanese and they were both to die for. My only real complaint would be the elevators did not work all the time and the WIFI was a bit dodgy at times. We truly enjoyed our stay and definitely will go again.
Staff was extremely kind. The views and activities here are excellent. I proposed to my fiancee here on this trip as well. Came for R&R and went to the Luminescent Lagoon. Was not disappointed except when I had to leave. I would definitely recommend and will be back as soon as I can. Thanks for a great time!
Run down, local feel, but they try hard. Jamaica used to have a good reputation for exotic, wish list getaway, but it has lost/lacks a lot of charm. Offers basics, can find some nice amenities here and there. Get familiar with hotel schedule to know when and which restaurants to go to, which show to watch, what time to best check out things. Very casual and relaxed place with lots of families, seems to have locals staying there too. The buffet is decent with lots of choices, but it takes some sleuthing to figure out what time of day, which dish is tastiest. The jerk chicken shack is best. Slushy drinks anytime with a prepaid bracelet, just ask for extra float of rum. Was wondering if air conditioner needed a new filter after feeling upper respiratory congestion. It's better to rent a car to get out of the hotel confines and to control the speed. Having a local driver will leave you with white knuckles and saying, "Jamaica me crazy." Several fun activities to do outside of the hotel. Watch for swindlers who want to lure you to buying things with the pretext of simply showing you one thing and acting super friendly. Don't expect bargain prices visiting and eating here.
My first all inclusive resort. Really enjoyed it! Buffet, jerk hut, barefoot grill and the DeTerrace were good. The seafood restaurant was okay, service was pretty slow and dessert not impressed. All the drinks were pretty good. Beds were great! However, updates are definitely needed. Overall it was good and reasonable!
We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay this past week. The resort can definitely do a much butter job at marketing. Initially when we book I was a bit paranoid that the resort was going to suck in comparison to other resort we've stayed at. I can honestly say that the rooms are decent, food is not horrible, beach is nice and the entertainment is not bad at all! Although, we had the MOST fun going to Margaritaville and Club Pier! Now that is where the real parties are!!!! There were 27 of us and not one person had a complaint about the resort and or clubs!!!! This was by far the best vacation!!!!!!!
One of our favorite resorts to stay with kids. Buffet is a must when traveling w 11 and 4 year old. Staff is super friendly. The rooms are clean. It is not a major upscale place, but for the price, it's fantastic. The buffet food is just that, buffet food. It's not incredible, but good. They do have occasional great food there. They offer 3 restaurants that you can get reservations at, but you can only make reservations 24 hours in advance, no earlier. The restaurant food is a step up from buffet. All in all, we love it here and have been here more than once. Have kids? This is an awesome place to go!!!
This is a great resort for kids. They have activities everyday for adults and kids. There is an adults only beach and pool with a swim up bar. Also if you have good status there is a good chance of getting upgrade. I'm SPIRE and was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. Not only that but they were able to get me an adjoining room for the rest of the family that was with me. Lastly there is a private lounge in building 7 only for those with status. There is a private bar and full menu to order from. Great conversation and any drink you could want. Can't want to get back down there.
The rooms where very clean and neat. Up to date. The workers where nice and pleasant. The food was delicious. The entertainment was okay, something to do. I would recommend this place if you just want to get away from America for a couple of days for some R&R.
Great beach setup, very kid friendly. Has adult only section as well. Decent staff and upkeep. Definitely not a high or even mid level resort but you get good value for the money.
All in all, it's not a bad resort. the food is pretty good, the "bonus" restaurants are great (the curry seafood dish is amazing at the seabreeze). The staff are friendly, however service could have been better. often there were long waits for drinks and occasionally food. I would recommend if you're looking for a resort on a budget. Also the beds were quite comfy, but that could've just been the rum.
I've stayed there twice and each time was fantastic! Top-notch service and accommodations, top-notch food and beverages, and some of the world's most beautiful beaches. I would highly recommend this resort to anybody visiting Jamaica on a budget. Holiday Inn got it right with this one.
