A little slice of heaven in Sorrento with breathtaking views, friendly staff, beautiful large (for Europe) rooms, excellent location right in town yet with it's 5 acre park, you feel secluded from the world. Excellent Michelin star restaurant!

Excellent hotel and good service. The only issue is the excessive perfume used in the laundry and the soap.

Beautifully restored building, very helpful and friendly staff, lovely garden and perfect location. Sea view is well worth the extra cost to make the perfect experience. Only negative was the breakfast which was average at best.

Truly the only hotel you should consider if you wish to get the full authentic Amalfi Coast feel.. the whole place is enchanting and feels like you're on a movie set. The hotel couldn't be better positioned in the city of Sorrento. Nearby the city center yet right on the edge overlooking the whole coast.. the pictures here simply don't do justice the sheer beauty of this place. Reserve way in advance as this hotel gets booked real fast..

Beautiful hotel that really feels like genuine old world Italy. Modern features like USB wall chargers and climate control mixed with grand bedrooms with Italian artwork and sculptures all around. Bathroom was large and marble and service is incredibly attentive, especially at the buffet breakfast.

What a gem of a find! This place exuded luxury and impeccable service from the moment the car enters off the street. The grounds are gorgeous, the location can't be beat, the staff go above and beyond thinking and taking care of every detail for you, the lobby and terrace is stunning, the old world mixed with modern is done so perfectly, and my room with the balcony just had me smiling ear to ear. This place was money well spent, and I can't imagine going anywhere else in Sorrento. The wifi worked perfectly, the rooms were huge and clean, the shower was one of the best I've had with jets everywhere and endless hot water, and the breakfast buffet in the morning had literally everything I could want and more. I've been to many 4 and 5 star hotels with included buffet breakfast, but this was by far the best I've ever had with fresh options, made to order items, hot and cold options.literally I was in love with the breakfast ;) the wait staff, concierge, front desk personal, and even the front door man were genuinely kind and caring. Clearly this place is well run, and just gorgeous. My favorite perk was the beautiful side gardens with hammocks to enjoy. And the location made going to and from Capri Island a breeze as they have an elevator from the hotel that puts you right down at the ferry docks. I can't wait to plan another trip back. My friend and I both agreed this hotel was a major highlight of our trip!

Gorgeous gardens and hotel grounds. Wonderful family owned business for over 180 years. Definitely has the old world charm, but plenty of modern day amenities. Very friendly, responsive, and courteous staff. I absolutely love my stay here at the Grand Excelsior.

What an amazing place! The hotel itself, the lovely gardens, the incredible and welcoming staff, and of course those ridiculous views I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Sorrento or the area in general. Better yet, this hotel is a destination in itself and just steps to the best Sorrento.
