This place is ideal for anyone traveling in Iceland. It is closed in the winter months, but you can park and campjust note the facilities are locked. Across the street is a great grocery store and coffee shop where there are also bathrooms.

Nothing much to look at just an open parking lot . If you are car camping along the ring road this is a great place to take a break between all the attractions just a short distance from restaurants, grocery store, gas and black sand beach.

The place is well maintained. There are showers and toilets as well as washing machines, however no dryer. There is also a small common area with a microwave, kettle and 2 sinks. There is also wifi here. The price is relatively cheap.

Service wasn't very good. Bathrooms have windows instead of walls, so you can see into then from the parking lot. Things are not in good condition or especially clean.

Lovely location, had showers (we didn't use), washer and dryer, toilets and a cooking/eating area. We were there at the end of October and it was open and had plenty of available spots. Nothing fancy but the location was amazing. Would recommend.

This was a lovely campsite. The owners/ people working the reception were such beautiful, helpful people. Common areas and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Showers were mostly warm but not a lot of space for clothes/ towels etc. definitely recommend!!

This was by far the worst campsite we stayed at in all of Iceland. They only had one washer and one dryer for the whole campground and it took us 6 hours to get 1 load done because no one could get in to use it (we only did because we sat next to the machine) and the dryer wasn't even working properly. So many people were soaked to the bone with no way to dry their stuff. Also they charge you for the showers that are cold and the door on both stalls are broken. I just feel like this place was thrown together in a hurry to make quick cash from the surge in tourist.

I absolutely love it here I spent 4 days and 3 nights here every day there was something to do in very close walking distance and there are always travelers in the common area to talk to about traveling, I have stayed in many camping sites and this is by far one of the best. That is why it earned 5 stars

Great camping. Use showers at night when there's no people so you have lots of hot water. Kitchen is good and internet is amazing

Vik is a cool town but the campsite is not. There was one shower that you had to pay extra for and the water was cold. Construction (hammering on sheet metal) began at 7:00am sharp. Needs a lot of work to compare to other sites in Iceland.

This place wasn't mentioned in my tour guide, but every online forum mentioned that I should stop here. And I'm glad I did! So many beautiful locations, all within a 30 minute drive.

On a rainy day, a lot of the campground is muddy. The common room is huge, but no real camp kitchen, and facilities are meager for the number of campers they pack in.
Be prepared to stand in line to just use a sink or toilet. Shower not warm.
Lots of young people, and we shared a table with a couple of fun, young campers at dinner time in the community room, which was fun. Just don't expect a lot, and you will be fine.

Probably the worst camping site we encountered during our trip. Only 1 shower for men, which provides ~1.5 minutes of hot water at a time. If you are lucky to get in while the tank is hot.

It seems like they are constructing a new section, which will be necessary for them.

This campsite is only good enough for ~40 people, but accepts 2-3 times their capacity.

Not a terrible camping spot, but fairly open grounds so wind can be an issue. Was closed in October, so no complaints. Water was still running.

Not my favourite campground (everything is close together and it gets a fair amount of business), but does have wifi and a fair sized indoor space that's good to use for cooking in poor weather.

I've camped 7 days around Iceland, and these campground facilities were by far the worst. Bathrooms have windows into them (little weird for privacy, but whatever). Males: only 1 out of 3 stalls and 1 of 2 urinals worked so long lines for the bathroom. Female bathroom was fine. However both were a little dirty. Have to pay 200 Kroner for a shower. Cost is 1500 kroner per person per night. They have sectioned off inside area to cook away from wind. Only thing saving this place was nice views of town and beach and the camp area itself was nice (multilayer ground instead of just flat). Opinion: go to church parking lot and take pictures, go to N1 and gas up and move on. Basically every other campsite we stopped at (6 others around Iceland) were better than this place.

We arrived there at around 3pm. Everything Okay. Check in was fast, the ground was nice and flat for a tent. Surrounding just breathtaking, Birds flying above our heads. The site itself was Chaos in the afternoon, 2 toilets in the Mens restrooms were flooded, and nobody really cared about it. Although we paid for showers many many other people in queue the whole night and morning(just 2 showers with cold water), apparently not paying for even the Campsite. Even we love the Honor System of Iceland but with such an amount of guests the owners should have cared a bit more.
Nice Campsite but not for the length of our stay, caused by too many people but also the lack of interests of the owners.
