We stayed here overnight in February, while the view from the parking lot was surreal the bathrooms were filthy. There was no place to cook or wash dishes. There were signs indicating that someone would come around to collect camping fees, but that person never came. Overnight there was a snow storm and in the morning we (along with six other campers) were snowed in. Apparently, the parking lots is not ploughed in the winter. We had to borrow a shovel from a nearby hotel and worked with the other campers to shovel out a metre high snowdrift; it took over two hours.

Two stars only for excellent location. Otherwise, this place is not good at all. Very exepnsive (1600 Isk per person), shower for 300 isk which was not even clean. Facility in this camp was one of the worst we have exeprienced in Iceland, but the staff was kind.

They pretend to be a camping but it is a parking. The only think that looks like a camping is the price. In the morning, a lady came to our campervan with a dataphone demanding to pay 1500 isk (12€) but in the entrance nothing notice that we were in a Camp site. It is just the parking of skogafoss and you can check this because at 8am a lot of big buses with undreds of tourist were at our side making big noise.
After the payment, we decided to use the wc Fatal error, this bathroom was cleaned for the last time maybe 2 years ago Maybe never was cleaned.
This people are shameless pretending to be a camping.
My advice, sleep in a parking of road 1 is much better.

Pros: You can see the Skogafoss waterfall straight from your tent and visit it before busloads of tourists show up. Location 5/5.
Cons: Minimal facilities. Only a couple of toilet seats for hundreds of campers. The only toilet for men got clogged just before we left.

Absolutely terrible campsite, no power outlets except in toilets, no kitchen, showers paid with 100kr coins -- 300kr for 5 minutes, of course no wifi. Camping place is assaulted with wind.
Pros: staff is permanently absent so you don't have to pay, great views. Also located right at the end of hiking route.
