    Great campsite with excellent view!
Also there's a new cosy restaurant here, highly recommended - Fair prices and great vegan dish available.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is the wind - it can get very windy here and I was afreid my tent would break. It didnt, but the sticks got bent.
There is a less windy camp 4 km south.

Awesome camping space with astonishing view at the lake! Quiet windy and it can be quiet cold, also in sommer.
    Awesome hiking experience

Cozy huts with clean showers (they do take credit card btw). Can also get some charging on your electronic devices via solar panels. Beautiful lakeside view!

Beautiful place, we had a sky clear there in the morning. Nice camping place, hot showers!! but you can have a bath in the stream or lake. And some mosquitos there. Do not expect any small shop there like in Landmanalaugar.

Best stop of the laugavegur. The scenic lake during a good sunset or sunrise is fantastic. The campsite can get crowded and many of the spots are rocky or uneven. Running water and showers. Great accommodations for being so remote.

This hut is as good as you'll get in the mountains. Plentiful camping and accommodation in the huts but it needs to be booked early. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice warm showers.

The half-way mark on the Laugavegurinn Trail, it's a gorgeous place to stop and spend the night. There is a large area available for camping and also huts you can stay in. Make sure you book ahead for the huts, but for camping you can just pay when you arrive and set up your tent where you want. The Iceland highlands can be *very* windy, so make sure your tent can handle the conditions. There are also hot showers available that you can pay for, which is pretty nice for the backcountry.
