  Experience with Rent.is really good. Pick up and drop off location very convenient. Really close just 3 minutes drive to the office. Guy who has serve me at the counter was really friendly and polite. He was explain about camper every detail. I was rented camper for 6 days. Camper was really convenient for 4 person family. I was really happy with heating system because outside was a bit cold and windy on night time, did great job. If i come one more time to visit Iceland i definitely rent again with Rent.is

  Excellent price-quality. The best in iceland. great variety of campervan for all needs. They are in excellent condition and very comfortable. I flew to the Iceland, more than 2500 km and I had no inconvenience.

  Excellent customer service and a friendly attitude. The vehicle they provided was in good condition and more than fit for purpose. They went above and beyond when we got stuck in the snow and sent help. Highly recommend!

  Pick up and drop location is very convenient and best part is its 24 hrs available. I rented Volkswagen Caddy campervan it was very comfortable. Bed space inside was quite spacious along with it the amenities provided were perfect for camping and stay.

  Prompt pickup from the airport, with only a very short transfer to their office. The staff were friendly and the car was new and well equipped. This was a perfect way for us to get around Iceland, we had an amazing time!
  
  We opted for the full zero liability insurance to ensure that we did not have any hassles. There were quite a few dents and markings on and in the car so glad we did not have to precisely document them all.

  I had a good rental experience using a VW Caddy Campervan in March. It was roomy enough for me by myself, but I think it would be a bit cramped for two people and their gear. The car was easy to drive, although you should watch your speed on downhills in the wind, as it tends to feel like it "swims" a bit in a strong sidewind. Fuel economy was good and the heater (runs off of a secondary battery) was adequate for me even in -10C weather.
  
  As for Rent.is they are working with "Green Motion" now. I didn't know that when I landed and had to call them up to take me to the office on Flugvellir. I highly recommend picking up the insurance packages, esp. the ones for gravel / windshield. If you drive much in Iceland, you're going to wind up on gravel roads or you're going to get hit by gravel thrown from someone else's car. I'm not sure about needing the "sand and dust" insurance, but if you get caught in a sand or dust storm, it can strip the paint. I would worry more about common issues like potholes or the wind. If you don't hold on to your door when you open it, the wind can easily blow the door hard enough to slam into another car or even snap a hinge on the door. Insurance won't cover that, so try to get in the habit of holding on to the door when you open it. If you watch out for those issues and are covered for the dings and scratches that will come up (gravel!) then the rental agency is just fine.

  We had a great experience with Rent.is. We rented a new (only in service since May) 4x4 camper van for four with automatic transmission. Everything worked great, even the night heater and the camper started right up in the morning. Totally professional. Provided us with a very thorough demonstration of how to operate everything too. Highly recommend.

  Alquilamos una mini camper , la calefeccion dejo de funcionar a los dos dias . Perdimos un dia entero visitando mecanicos para que la repararan , se limitaron a cambiar la bateria . Funciono unas 4 horas y dejo de funcionar otra vez . No nos dieron mas soluciones y no quieren dar ningun tipo de compensacion economica.

  SCAM. Avoid. Charging huge amounts of money for damage we did not do. I have been renting cars across the world and never came across such underhand tactics. The salesman outright lied to my face about paint damage.

  Everything was fine until we turned in our rental and were charged $500 for pre-existing damages that I signed off on! Still battling them for the fraudulent charge. Do yourself a favor and rent the other companies. 1 star.
  
  Edit: we received our money back, so I'm changing my review to 4 stars! I'm still unhappy that I had to worry about that, but at least they were nice in all of their emails, and resolved it.
