One of the Best fish meal I had in a long time. The ambience and the decor and the staff were very nice. Price was high but that's average for Iceland we learnt by then.
The staff was very hospitable and friendly! I loved how they offered mid-afternoon make your own waffles in the lobby area and hot chocolate. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is soooo conveniently located to blue lagoon and is reasonably priced! The restaurant is very good as well and also reasonably priced! They have a very organized shuttle service to take you to and from the airport and to and from blue lagoon! We would definitely stay there again!
Nice lodging not far from the airport and just a 4 minute's drive to the popular Blue Lagoon hot springs. There is an observation room for nights when you can see the northern lights or the stars and also bar and fireplace lounges for other times. The restaurant has a good selection and features local fish. The breakfast buffet also has many good choices including vegan milk (oat or almond) and Violife cheeses.
Large, well appointed rooms. Everything was well kept and new. Observation area to see the northern lights if you didn't want to brave the cold outside. Overall an excellent hotel
I have to say this has to be one of the best hotels i have stayed in!
Even though its not a 5 star accommodation the hospitality and service provided by the staff is beyond exceptional.
This hotel is so cozy with its wood fire lounge and clean rooms.
Also you do not have to go chasing the northern lights because the northern lights come to you in this special retreat!
I regret not staying in this hotel throughout my stay in Iceland. I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
P.s. Gudjohnson has to be one of the best staff members i have come across in a very long time.
This guy is a complete gentleman and will do anything to make sure the guests are happy.
I cannot thank him enough.
Really nice hotel with everything you need for a short stay near the blue lagoon. Fire place and games a really nice touch Only think that would be a plus is Room Service We went to the blue lagoon in the evening and came back too late for dinner which left us a little hungry. Otherwise a great stop on our Icelandic adventure!
We weren't planning on staying in Iceland on our way home, but now we are glad we stayed! The Northern Lights Inn and Max's Restaurant are wonderful places to visit when you are here. The close proximity to the Blue Lagoon is great and the shuttles run you back and forth quickly.
We frequent 5-star hotels all over the world, but found this place to be one of the most quaint and magical hotels we've ever stayed at. The front desk staff welcomes you and gives you a complete tour of the property while showing you to your room. In thousands of hotel nights, we've never had this experience. In every other hotel we've stayed at, the front desk person just tells you where to go and hopes you don't get lost.
We stayed in a family suite that had a king bed and twin beds on either side of it. This was a great configuration for our family of four. Max's Restaurant has a great selection of authentic Icelandic food, and the service and food quality was outstanding.
We will return to Iceland again to see the Northern Lights (we didn't see them on this trip) and we will definitely plan on staying at the Northern Lights Inn.
Great location to see the northern lights and a lot of other natural geothermal sights but not informed before booking about being right next door to a geo thermal plant spoiling the view and walls between rooms are paper thin!!! Staff were great and accommodating. Very clean.
Great place to stay for the Blue Lagoon and star watching. Also Northern lights. Rooms spacious and well decorated. Very comfortable seating areas and honesty bar available. Dinner first night excellent as was breakfast. Menu is not extensive but the food is well cooked and presented. Spa available for a fee. Free coffee and waffles in the lounge area. Only down side is the power plant which is close by but it's the reason for the Blue Lagoon so can't really complain. Over all a great place to stay.
Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Iceland, this hotel had the least impressive room. The staff was professional and most of them were friendly. The breakfast was top notch. Max's restaurant menu is limited and their menu doesn't change every couple of days but the food is good. The hotel best feature is it's location. Being within walking distance of the Blue Lagoon is nice. We did see the Northern Lights which is a major plus. I would stay here again if the price is right.
Such a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and cozy with a great staff. We loved the honesty bar and little common areas, felt very much like a home. Saw the Northern Lights at night which was amazing!
Very nice hotel. It has an observatory for viewing the Northern Lights and will even do wake-up calls for visitors to watch the lights. They also have something called an "honesty bar", a concept I did not think was even possible.
Great stay, albeit a quick one. Everyone was friendly, rooms were spotless, and breakfast was outstanding. Plus it's within walking distance to the blue lagoon, which was convenient. Only suggestion I have would be to add some equipment to the fitness area. Maybe just a treadmill and some heavier free weights
I didn't stay in this hotel but I had lunch there. So I can't comment about the hotel.
The location is very close to Blue Lagoon. The food presentation is good but they serve little bit slow.
Food it self is tasty.
The hotel is of superb quality. Rooms are stunning, clean, and relaxing. Great comfort throughout. Restaurant is good. Breakfast is adequate. They could add some more hearty items. Waffles, more bread options, even more fruit options.
Friendly almost home like atmosphere. Kind staff with great service. Very close to The Blue Lagoon and a short trip to Keflavik int Airport.
High quality establishment with great staff and convenient transportation to blue lagoon and airport! Good size rooms with comfy beds and great showers! They also have cake in their breakfast buffet what more could anyone want?! Highly recommended! :D
Wonderful food and kind friendly staff. I'm vegan and gluten free and they were able to accommodate with a delicious modification to an eggplant dish on the menu. The chef came by to see how things were. Bravo, great spot !
Very nice, friendly and very accommodating staff. Very responsive to emails. The staff also pointed out to us when the northern lights came out and gave us tips on where a good location in the back would be good to capture it. The rooms are basic and comfortable and the food is tasty.
A very pleasant small Inn. Not completely overrun and very manageable due to its small size. The honor system bar is nice and they have a cozy gas fireplace to hang out in front of in the evenings. Max's restaurant serves very good food. Although like much of Iceland, it's quite expensive.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is excpetionally clean, friendly, very warm and is a great base for exploring this part of Iceland and to try and experience the Northern lights. The bar and relaxation area are a nice touch, we visited with our parents so it was a great place to start and end the day.
Wonderful staff, decent breakfast. Unfortunately the WiFi blocks adult content which is a shame. Since I value my freedom so much I give one star for that. I didn't like the bible in my room as well. Please keep your religion away.
I didn't expect anything amazing from this place. However, it is truly amazing, 5 minutes away from blue lagoon, and inside of an amazing setting. Offers amazing surprises and facilities, with amazingly my helpful staff.
