Wouldn't recommend for beginner horse riders as others have suggested. The horses are very friendly but also started trotting unexpectedly. Some of the guides were very friendly, others were very condescending. It's also hard to tell who is/isn't a guide and they don't station themselves at both the front and back to ensure safety. Oh, and there's no safety demonstration or detailed explanation of how to control the horse. As an infrequent horse rider, I was stressed out the entire ride. This tour is not worth the expense.

10+ stars! The horses were wonderful, and the guides were kind and funny. It was snowing and cold but amazing nonetheless. We did some light trotting, too. This was possibly my favorite part of the trip in Iceland.

Unfortunately when we visited the weather cancelled the ride but staff were so friendly, allowed us in to see the horses and clearly care about them. They tried to reschedule but sadly we couldn't fit in either go so took the option of a refund but will certainly go back again if we return to try and ride. 5 stars for the friendly, helpful and funny staff.

Great experience! The staff and horses were friendly. You can borrow everything you need to stay safe, warm, and dry. Halfway through the trip, the group was split up into those who didn’t want to go fast and those who wanted to Tölt. The Tölt was a great experience. Can’t wait to do it again when back in Iceland.

Excellent morning ride out. Pickup from bus terminal friendly staff.
I forgot my gloves but they have a box full of lost property so sorted out great.
Full kitted out with waterproof trousers etcetera so nice and warm as the wind can be cold.
Trekking for about 2hrs probably about 4_5 miles

Great friendly farm with an amazing horse riding experience. Never rode before so it was quite the learning curve and felt I was about to fly when there was galloping. Offered cake after. Great place!

OMG, it was one of the best experience I have ever had!!! I can highly recommend the horse riding offered by Laxnes Horse farm. Even though we were just three riders they split the group in one with more experienced riders and the beginners. It was so amazing going fast with this strong horses. I'll do it again, that's for sure.
Also, the horses are very good looking. I think they have a good life with enough space and time for themselves.

Excellent riding. Friendly owners. Probably the cutest dog you'll ever meet there too.

We've been here twice now and it was great both times.

It would be nice if there were more options for rides for the more experienced riders.

The food they offer is delicious.

Short journey from Reykjavik, can book direct and be picked up from the nearest bus stop or can book via grayline as a combination tour with another excursion.

What a neat little place. We stopped by as part of a tour. They have bags of bread so you can feed the "very hungry" horses.

We had an absolute blast riding the horses. The scenery along the trail was gorgeous. All of the staff were super nice and ready to help with anything you needed. Neither my wife or I have ever ridden before and we both had an absolute blast.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I definitely recommend. Perfect for riders with and without experience. This was one of the highlights of our holiday! Beautiful views and scenery. The ride lasted two hours with a break stop at a beautiful waterfall. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed it very much.

Had a wonderful ride on Icelandic horses. It was actually my first time riding a horse period, but the one I had was extremely well-tempered and responsive. I was even able to ride back with the fast group with no issues.

Beautiful scenery and wonderful horses. The manager picked us up at our respective hotels, and with his sense of humour, put us all at ease. Most of the people in our group didn't know each other at the outset, but by the end of the tour we were talking laughing and enjoying the ride and each other. This is the second time I've visited the Laxnes Farm. The last time was 10 years ago. I'm so glad I came back to the same place again. I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested in the Icelandic horses.

One of the most beautiful rides I've ever been on. It was my friend's first time on a horse and they just as accommodating to beginners as to advanced riders

We took the 2 hour trip at 1pm. The horses are well trained and it was enjoyable to sit on them however, I specifically choose this company because they mentioned on their website that they would separate the group depending on skill level. This didn't happen and we all stayed in a group of about 30! All we could do was walk slowly because there were some beginners in the group. It was rather disappointing that there was no opportunity to trot with the horses.

The most enjoyable ride I have ever been on. Very fun for beginners and even more fun for advanced. And holy cow Icelandic Sandra was beautiful. Could not of been a better ride in my kilt.

What an amazing tour. Well worth the effort to get out there and more than enough time on the horses. The staff were really friendly and helpful to our not so experienced riders. We came with four beginners and they were able to get along just fine within a few minutes on the horse. And the views were just beautiful.

What a fantastic experience. The family owners are so friendly and the girls who rode with us ensured everyone in the group felt confident throughout. The horses are obviously very well cared for and each has its own character. Scenery is breathtaking. A must for anyone visiting this beautiful country.
