The Biologist on board was very friendly and explained a lot. There were two kinds of whales to see, puffins and even dolphins. We also got hot chocolate and cinnamon buns on the boat.

Got my first sighting of a humpback whale! Friendly staff, electric boat (i am all for the eco friendly stuff) plus it was much quieter than a diesel boat Cinnamon swirl and hot chocolate to end.

We did the classic whale tour back in July, and North Sailing gave us a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and the captain was great at finding whales. We got close to three and went home a little cold but very happy. A little tip: we did the last tour of the day, and it was not crowded at all. We were able to buy tickets 10 minutes before the tour, and the lighting and sky were beautiful at that time. I would recommend the late tour if it works with your schedule.

Very nice tour - the sailing itself was very nice and with beautiful views, the crew was very friendly and you also get some hot chocolate and cookies during the trip.
We saw whales in the distance and the crew really did its best to get closer. It was quite an experience, but a summer tour might be more suitable for whale watching (we took it in September).
Also, don't forget to bring a good camera to get some high quality photos.

Tour was cancelled for rough seas. Completely understandable. We saw the huge waves while driving away with a refund. Cannot change the weather. Plan accordingly.

Great whale watching tour! The guides are very professionals and have the experience to find the whales. I was really close to them and I enjoyed this tour. It is an experience not to miss in Husavik.

Very professional, friendly and funny staff. They explain all what you need to know. We managed to see 3 whales and finished the tour very happy even though the waters were a bit rough. Recommended :)

we had an awesome trip with a lovely crew. they explained everything very good. unfortunately the speakers were not good enough so we only got half of the infos. this should get improved. we have seen some whales. but i am not sure if the price isnt a bit too high for that overall experience. nevertheless it was a very nice trip.

North Sailing provided us with a great experience. We chose the Whales, Puffins, and Sails tour, and it lived up to the promise. In total we saw three types of whales and puffins galore. We were also able to see some beautiful landscapes of the mountains in the area. Overall it was a great experience.

We did whale watching tour. We saw saw several humpback whales some very close. We even saw a humpback jumping which was a sight to behold but quite difficult to take pictures of. The jumping white nosed dolphins were easier in that respect. We had a great time. The hot chocolate was nice although the cinnamon rolls were a bit dry. My only complaints I have is that it was difficult to hear the sound system from the front of the boat.

We took a whale watching and puffin tour with North Sailing. We had a really great time. The guides were very good. One of the guides was a marine biologist who provided a lot of interesting information about the whales and puffins. Another guide was a local who provided information about the local weather and history. We saw several Humpback whales, even two hunting together. We got very close to the whales, with one who passed under the boat. They were very considerate with the whales, and we did not stay close to them for very long, especially when other boats came close. It was important to us that we not stress the whales too much, and North Sailing supports that. We would recommend this tour to others.

Firstly: We didn't go whale watching here. Then why am I making a review? Because a) We had coffee and cakes here, and they were phenomenal. The Chocolate crunch cake was great and the coffee wss delicious and decent sized. B) We were booked to go whale watching, but it was cancelled due to bad weather. We were offered to rebook the next day, but we were advised that the weather wasn't necessarily going to be great the next day, but the fjord at Akureyri had calmer weather forecast, so we were recommended to try there, even though it was a different company. The staff seemed to genuinely care for us, instead of trying to retain a booking.

We chose the carbon-neutral whales, sails, and puffins option, and though pricey, it was a really lovely way to spend an afternoon! Before booking, figure out how many others will be on the boat—15 or 20 should be good, but a full boat (I think about 45) would be really unpleasant. We had a small-ish crowd, and there was enough room to spread out and grab seats and whatnot. We DID see whales—maybe four or five humpbacks in July—some pretty close and some further away. The ride itself is beautiful (assuming good weather), and the crew are super-friendly and fun. If an alternate non-puffin tour is available, I'd probably recommend skipping the puffins: they're cute, but you sail by the (private) island and they're all rather far away. But either way, great tour with a great company!

We just returned from our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Iceland. One of the highlights of our trip was to be the Whale Watch we had scheduled several months earlier. However, we actually did not go on our scheduled Whale Watch, because the weather was so bad the day we were to go. I was so disappointed but relieved when the North Sail staff explained that the Whale Watch was cancelled because it was too dangerous to take people out and we would all get a full refund. We then spent the rainy morning at the Husavik Whale Museum, right next door. Within a few weeks after our return, our money was refunded, including the foreign transaction fee! Thank you so much for your gracious customer service and for that reason I decided to give this company a good review. Regards an enjoy your trip to Iceland and if you want a whale watch, these are the people to be with!

At the beginning of the trip the crew provides warm overalls. But it is quite chilly even with them, so be sure to wear all the clothes you have in your luggage :)
Watching whales was an amazing experience. We even saw a blue whale on our trip! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Warning: if you get seasick easily, this trip is not for you.The sea looked absolutely calm, but once we got to the open waters our ship was swaying for whole 3 hours.
