Parked our RV here for the night in May 2018. They have lots of electrical hookups, washrooms, and an information centre. Cost was 3600 isk for 2 people and electrical hookup. Part of the site was closed for camping due to boggy ground (one person had their camper van stuck in the closed area when we arrived) but still lots of space and staff have closed off the wet areas. Beautiful backdrop out our window, and the very nearby Kost trail along the fissure was one of the most remarkable parts of our trip.

Some decent information posted outside and access to free hiking maps. The cafe had some hot soup and other standard Icelandic snacks. Small gift shop but you're better off shopping somewhere else for anything other than specific thingvellir stuff. Bathroom was very messy when I went in.

Great place to have a cup of coffee and enjoy a sweet small treat. The people all speak English so easy to discuss there is only a small sitting area but if you are driving yourself,(not a bus) there is plenty of room to sit and enjoy. Have to pay for the bathrooms, but that is to be expected.

Not the friendliest of staff but when you ask the right questions you can get the information you need. I asked about routes back to the airport and although the information desk person was apathetic, the person who was ringing up people (coffee, soup, sandwiches) took the time to look up real time traffic along the various routes and advised us the best way to go. WC are accessible through the outside of the building for people not staying in the campground.

Great little museum with two separate displays. One of the general history of Iceland and one of Egils saga. Both are walk through and very artsy crafty in a good way. Be sure and stop upstairs for some good soup and homemade bread at their little cafe. Oh, there are some stairs involved.

The scenery was great. The information center did not provide much information. I think you could pay for tours and buy nick-nacks. There is some food for purchase. We stayed at the campground next to the tourist center. The campground was quite nice. Clean showers (not free). Good hiking. The trails up might be hard for someone who is not in shape. My 6 year old daughter made it up no prob.

Not really a tourist information centre. Just a sales outlet wanting to sell trips and is another example of the americanisation of this once amazing country.

Wow what scenery. We were there when it had snowed quite heavily but it was fantastic views. The tourist info and cafe very clean. It also had cabins that you can stay in around it. Good sized carpark. Driving around the park which is vast. There are plenty of designated stopping places to take photo's.😊

Not very helpful. Highly recommend booking with a tour company. There are a lot of them and they'll be able to get you to treat sites far better than anyone at the information center.

Very clean bathroom, descent selection of snacks, ok espresso- good selection of tourist books but keychains and such can be found at better prices anywhere else this side of island.

Make sure you pre-book a Silfra snorkelling tour. It's also great to walk around and check out the waterfall.

Nice stop as you make your way around the lake and back to Reykjavik. They have food here or you can eat outside and enjoy the scenery if you brought your own.

Small with helpful maps and restrooms (WCs). Several sites to hike and visit. Easy to hike around regardless of age.

The food selection was average and what you would expect from a national park. The campgrounds were also acceptable, and while the bathrooms were definitely cleaner than your average public bathroom, the lights didn't work in all but one stall and I personally find it unacceptable that there was no warm water given the price of staying in the park and the countries bountiful energy supply.
