The staff was extremely nice. The village is small and contains a super market and gas station. The timing is convenient, but a little challenging. The room, however, was like a dorm room and our shower door was broken.

The place has everything you need. It is basic and simple. The bed and shower is good. The food is simple and okay. The walls between the rooms are really thin. You can hear word for word what your neighbours are saying.
Take some time to climb the waterfall. There is a prepared walking path. The climb is absolutely worth the views. It will take you 15-20 minutes to make the climb

This guesthouse provide tiny rooms but sizing is not problem. The problems are bed sheet, pillow and blanket have bad smell and too less breakest menu. Its over price.

Terrible. They give the bare necessities of a bed and towel and that is all you get. The walls are paper thin and you hear everything your neighbour says. There is no hair dryer or any kitchen of sorts so they force you to eat at their restaurant. The bathroom has no ventilation so they place feels very moist and smells moldy. The internet is terribly slow and blocks certain websites. It is very expensive to stay here ($150 CAD) and they gave us absolutely nothing. Don't stay here if you have a choice.

Very simple but cozy place. Rooms are warm and beds are comfortable. Sheets seem a bit old but are very clean (as well as the room and toilet). Shower has good hot water flow. Our rooms (as most on the bottom floor) had big glass doors with curtains, which allowed us to see the sky at night. Friends had dinner at the restaurant on the first day and were very happy with the food. Service was very polite and courteous. Would stay here again in the future.

Cold in the lady's bathroom area. Door locks are very loud therefore you can get very little sleep due to other walking in and out of the rooms. Two bed rooms are bigger than quadruple rooms. No air flow in the rooms. Good internet though. Bonus: very stylish 'exit' sign in the double rooms, glowing sickly green 24/7.

We had a private room for 2 with our own bathroom. Although the room was quite small it was more than sufficient to dry our clothes, take a nice shower and spend the night. The price is on the high side and you would expect a bigger and more luxurious room, but the next door waterfall makes up for that. It is less than a 5 minute walk and features some great viewing spots. You can even hike to the top of the mountain and find a beautiful view and lake there, as I'm told. We didn't find the time to make the hike. The service was very friendly. The accompanying restaurant is quite basic but served a fish stew that renewed our energy and a delicious local trout that we can recommend. If you're on a budget like us, this place is great. I think the lowest price you can find in the area.

Very nice accommodation. Clean, quiet private rooms and bathrooms with large open common area. Kitchen is practical and easy for self cooking. Excellent location; a great place to rest and recharge between Reykjavik/The Golden Circle and Vik.

This was a very nice guesthouse. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. The waterfall behind the building was beautiful. The breakfast is a small Euro style set-up and costs extra. We decided to head up the road to the gas station where there is also a little grocer.

Overpriced, little to none facilities.

Pros:
Room was clean.
Bed was comfortable (2 singles)
Nearby the waterfall.
15min hike to the lake.

Cons.
Tiny room.
Tiny bathroom.
Wash basin is so small, it's useless.
No kettle in room or main building.
No kitchen facilities.
They refused to put a few items in their restaurant's fridge for us.
Restaurant prices are ridiculous!
Bad lighting in rooms.

The place has been renovated so the older reviews don't match. The rooms are clean and new, staff is great. There is no kitchen anymore.

The location was good with walking trails and a waterfall behind. Quiet with comfortable rooms. We opted for one with a private bathroom. Breakfast simple but adequate. It's a cold breakfast. We had dinner in Vik at Strondin bistro n bar. And it was perfect.

The location is amazing! Situated right next to a waterfall, it has amazing walking trails right in it's backyard. The staff is friendly. Keep in mind that you have to book breakfast beforehand. The room had extremely thin curtains which were completely unsuitable for the Icelandic summer as they didn't keep the light out at night.

Location was central to Vik and Jokulsarlon. Also it was right in front of Systrafoss with easily accessible hiking trails. There's also a grocery store and restaurant within walking distance. The guesthouse also had a kitchen for people who wanted to cook. However, check in wasn't until 4pm (we got in at 5am), which was a bit late for our schedule. Overall, great experience!

The location is great but the community kitchen is a bit disgusting. Don't use the microwave, I think a food bomb exploded in there in 1967 and they are waiting for the debris to dry up and fall out of it. There was no dish soap or towels so you know that no one was able to wash the dishes well. We would have eaten out if I would have known ahead.
Staff was friendly and the room clean.

Nice affordable accommodation. It was perfect in winter, when the entire surrounding is filled with knee-deep snow and the scenario looks like a winter wonderland. Another important thing is a small walking passage near the accommodation which takes you to the waterfalls and if you walk further a fantastic view! The walk is totally worth it. This not very well known 'hilltop' was the crown jewel of my visit to Iceland. Don't miss it!

To be honest, it is not fair to give rate under three star. Concerning its price, the place is clean and comfortable. The only thing needs to improve is there are only two stove to cook and always a queue for them. Except this point, the place is in okay condition. The reception is kind and there is hot water available.
