Basic accommodation along the tourist route. I wasn't feeling the love as we skated through the icy car park in the hire car, nor as we slid across the icy paths to reception (it was December so to be expected). Once checked in we had to drive (skate) out of the car park, drive down the road and skate into another car park for our accommodation. If not at check in, then at this point cramp-ons would have been handy. It was super icy trying to get ourselves from the car to the accommodation, let alone bags on wheels. If you are stopping for just one night in winter as we did, I would recommend planning ahead and having a small daypack with what you need for the night. Once inside, the rooms and facilities were basic but clean, comfortable and functional. There's only a kettle in the kitchen - no microwave and very limited bowls and utensils. After the slippery experience getting into the place and the last hour of road trip being slippery driving also, we chose to stay in and scraped together food from our supplies. After a comfortable nights sleep we slid back into the car, drove up the road and skated back into reception where the included breakfast is served. Cereals, toast, sliced vegetables, cold cuts and some lovely locally smoked fish. All lovely, and washed down with reasonable coffee. One last thing I forgot to mention - there was plenty of cloud the night we stayed but another couple staying there for two nights showed us pictures they'd taken if the northern lights the night prior. There's a great balcony that looks across the darkness that would be a great vantage point to enjoy the light activity.

You get what you pay. The place could use a general makeover or at least some painting. The rooms are not isolated at all, so you'll hear whatever the other guests are doing. The WiFi does not work and the TV does not either.

Nice guest house. We walk to the road at night and could easily see the northern lights.

For the room price, private bathroom and free breakfast are included(i live at guesthouse room building). That's amazing! Many guesthouse in iceland does not offer private bathroom or free breakfast, even with similar room price tag as hörgsland guest.
Internet hops off all the time but then you have a tv. Reception has stronger internet.
Overall I am very satisfied with private bathroom and free breakfas and room conditions.😀response / report this review -

The Wi-Fi simply does not work, there was hair in the pillow case and the shower door is broken. For the price this is not acceptable.

It's a good side of the road hotel. Clean. WiFi was terrible mostly unusable. Balcony was nice to watch the sky.

I could recommend it only if you need to spend the night. If you do not need WiFi, you do not need kitchen and luxury apartments. Everything is very simple. In the bathroom was empty bottle of soap and shampoo. The rooms are warm and have a TV. The breakfast is pretty good, there are smoked salmon.

No possibility of cooking for yourself. Too expensive for what if offers. WiFi is free, but very bad.

Minuses
Overpriced!!!
Room was very noisy and you could hear people walking all around the building.
Room was for four people, but furniture was too simple and more like for two person.
Bunk bed had its slats broken.

Not bad breakfast. No hot dishes, but not bad
Two big hot tubs outside

The Wifi quality is very poor. The window has gap cause wind blew inside. The sound insulation is poor. But, the breakfast was pretty good.
