Was OK. Nothing fancy. The breakfast was alright, same spread everyday. Late check in time but you can leave your luggage and go our for the morning. Had to ask for an extra pillow as they are to soft. Was a bit of a walk into town would want a hotel more centrally located.

Nice hotel. About a 20 min walk from downtown Reykjavik, we walked downtown almost every night to get grub. There are also restaurants closer by (10 min walk ish) that are really good. It's also far enough from the downtown scene that it gets pretty quiet at night. Free breakfast was okay, but it's free and the selection is decent.

Shaft was extremely helpful in finding local hot spots for food Etc. General appearance of the hotel was excellent newer Hotel, never runs out of hot water which is excellent. Continental breakfast has some room for improvement not much, can mix things up to improve. Enjoyable stay would definitely go back!

Comfy room. Was in superior room. Free WiFi throughout. Breakfast was okay. But don't expect your traditional continental breakfast as that is not is what is served here. Great place to stay overall and really close to the swimming pool and hot springs

Standard and superior hotel rooms comfortable to sleep and bath. A Mile walk from downtown. No amenities only paid salad bar and breakfast euro style and happy hour not good deals. Tour desk available staff helpful.

Clean but very basic in amenities. Food and beverage very limited. Staff nice. Ok location to downtown area/ museums. 25 min walk or so. Bus line right outside door if you prefer.

The Cabin is what it is. A very pleasant budget hotel. The bedrooms are small and basic but clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful as are all Icelanders. Situated within 20 minute walk to the city centre with plenty to see along the way.

Hotel is clean, rooms very small but fine really considering you're just going to sleep here. Staff are very friendly, breakfast buffet is good. Great place if you're going on trips as you are collected from the hotel and taken directly to the bus terminal before going on the actual tour. Recommended.

Included in a room is a free (cold) buffet breakfast which starts serving very early in the morning, which is helpful if you have an early starting tour or flight out. The hotel offers an evening meal (hot and cold buffet), but having tried it I think you would find nicer food if you go out into town.

Hotel cabin is located very close to the waterfront of the city, but not on it.

I just wish I were smaller to enjoy more the cozy but tiny rooms and beds LOL 😂. Nonetheless, I loved my stay last December.

Rooms are basic and small but clean. Breakfast is buffet style and of decent enough standard (I've definitely had much worse). No one checks that you have paid for breakfast or anything so I can only assume that all guests get it complimentary. So if a travel company tries to use it as some sort of bargaining chip when trying to sell you something extra don't fall for it! Best part was staff who were always happy and helped us out with lots of information and let us borrow an adapter and phone charger.

Although rooms were very small they were all clean with lovely bedding & plenty of towels. Plenty of seating area in lounge also more seating on 1st floor. Found staff to be helpful & friendly. Breakfasts were more than adequate

Basic small rooms but it's clean and the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are warm. Breakfast is perfectly adequate and plentiful. Situated at the edge of town but it's a nice walk. If you are looking for a place to crash this is it. No hairdryer 😠

1 of the cheaper hotels bur was much better than expected. Very clean, breakfast was great, shower was awesome with a rainfall head and a handheld head that was very powerful. Was on top floor with a great view looking out to sea (another hotels restricts view of sea meeting land) about 15min walk to Reykjavik centre. To be picky we had 2 single beds and mattress pushed together for a double bed and 2 single duvets. The mattresses weren't a massive problem but a double duvet would have been better. T.V was old and small without even an hdmi socket but there's so much to do your sad if you find yourself watching it. We are already considering going back to Iceland in 2019 and we will try and book the same hotel. Would give 4 and half starts but it was 4 or 5. For 5 it would have to be perfect and very modern however this hotel was perect for us knowing we were out on excursions or asleep for 90% of our holiday.

The best part, we only stayed one night. We couldn't eat in the restaurant as it was closed due to an overwhelming amount of school children. On arrival we were thrust a form to fill in and a key was handed over without so much as a word, we questioned where the room was located and was just pointed in the direction. The family room was adjacent to the reception and lift. It was impossible to sleep with the bed being against the wall of the lift shaft, doors banging all night and the lift constantly in operation with children going up and down all night. The hotel is dated and tired, and they seem concentrate on large volumes of school children. Could not recommend.

5 stars for cleanliness and efficiency.
3 stars for size and amenities.
We enjoyed our stay but in hindsight would have preferred to stay in downtown Reykjavík to be save taxi fare and be able to walk to restaurants and shopping.

Nice hotel. Close to the ocean. Comfortable bed. Soft bedding. The water does have a sulpher smell, but is subtle. Gift shop, restaurant and bar are all located inside. Friendly staff. All speak English. Only downside is the hotel is pricey, but everything is expensive in Iceland, but worth the experience.

The location is great. Close to the sea but no sea view. Rooms are quite small but expected for the price. Window has a nice picture of a waterfall on but open it and it's the next corridor. Definitely made me laugh. Not a big deal but hard to get fresh air. The coffee/bar area downstairs is nice and there is a small gift shop.

Overall definitely a budget place but still clean and in a great location, close to the pool and a a short walk to the town center.

We had an ok stay. The standard is acceptable but not fancy. Two things I'd like to mention. The room was small. Barely able to open a suitcase on the floor. And the breakfast buffet had the most soulless orange juice I've tried. Nice and helpful people in the reception.

Brought a school group here. No frills accommodation, so important to consider it as such. If I were traveling privately with my family, I would consider this room basic, but fine for one or two nights. Traveling with 21 boys, however, this place is superb. Staff have treated the kids well. Ruins are small and basic, but well above the standard w often get on group trips. And the buffet styled evening meal was a pain free way of feeding a lot of hungry guests at once. So, I'd rate this place with 3 to 4 stars for private travel, but for school groups 4 to 5.

I've been there twice on a school trip. My first night, it was a luxury to have a window which you could see out off. Furthermore, I couldn't get my shower to work.
My second night, I was in a different room which made the hotel seem like it's worthy of 4 stars. I had a WINDOW which I could see out off and It had a nice view. Also the room had a shower with warm water.

No frills accommodations with good service and breakfast make this a good place to stay. There are rooms with windows that only open to the hallway with no outside ventilation that works be horrible in which to stay. We had an outside window with a view of a dirt parking lot, but the fresh sea air was pleasant. The hotel is big enough to have many services available, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. There is so much to do in Reykjavik, we didn't spend much time at the hotel. I would stay here again.

I had a twin room which was extremely small. The space around the beds cut close to none. On the other hand the location in the city if Reykjavik was very helpful, opposite the hotel was a supermarket chain which was very useful. Overall if you were wanting to stay in Hotel Cabin for more than 2 nights then I would recommend going to the Hilton down the road.

This is a budget hotel so be aware that the rooms are very small. With that being said, the beds were very comfortable. Lots of hot water and temperature control. The hallways can get a bit loud with so many guests but that can be fun if you're looking to meet people. Free breakfast buffet with meats, cheese, bread and more. The front desk staff was always very helpful. Fairly cheap gift shop too!

Great place, full of life. The evening into the bar between 1600 and 1800 is the perfect opportunity to meet new people! Nice clean rooms, shower and en suite immaculate - and the shower. You will stay in it for ages!! Good location, and great transport links - but that's maybe just Iceland. I would stay here again!

I stayed here almost a year ago to the day and we had a very pleasant stay. Coming from England, we were struck by how friendly, helpful and efficient the staff were, helping us sort out our tours and even opening the gift shop up for us after it had closed. The room was small and didn't offer a great view from the window but we came to explore Iceland, not to sit indoors all day. The hotel is in a decent location with a convenience store/gas station/Subway across the road and is in close proximity to the town centre and thermal pool (10 min walk each) - it was also quite a short drive to the Perlan.

Unfortunately the Blue Lagoon was undergoing renovations when we came last year so I will definitely be back and would have no problem staying here again :)

Great position, good view, and a nice, and not too far walk, from the city center, BUT the biggest problem was with the breakfast because it was the same EVERY DAY and without too many options and if you stay for 5 days it's a little problematic to eat the same food over and over again
The room was clean and nice, but our room had something "special": a crack in the left upper side as you can see in the picture and with that "extra option" we heard the wind blowing all night long :) and we felt like camping outdoor, but sleeping in a good bed and a warm room.
Overall it was an interesting experience, but for sure, from now on i will read all the reviews before i will book again another hotel. So, on a scale from 1 to 5, i will give to this hotel a maximum 3!
