Stayed here at the start and the end of our trip as it’s the only campsite open in Reykjavik at this time.
The Good: kitchen is nice and has everything you need. Kitchen is also Clean (because the campers clean up after themselves) with recycling etc showing that they do care about the waste produced at the site
and they have free WiFi

Now for the Not so good
The reception (and facilities) are only open 5pm-10pm that includes bathrooms+showers. Apart from that you have to head to the hostel next door.
Male bathrooms were out of order and only half the female bathrooms were in working order they didn’t look like they had been cleaned and there was no soap at the sinks to wash your hands.
The courtyard area has potential but the fire/grill area looks like it hasn’t been touched in years and the washing up sinks don’t work.
1900kr to stay per person per night and all you really get is a car park a stove and 5 hours of amenities.

We loved Iceland and have had a great 2 weeks traveling the country just a little disappointed that the campsite in the capital feels like it doesn’t get cared for

Have payed for one night on April a pretty expensive payment of 1900 kr for my experience. Offers all the facilities you will need (laundry is an extra payment), and the were in an ok condition. The male bathrooms were out of order, so the entire campsite was forced to use the female bathrooms and showers. Out of the 10 stalls in the female restrooms, only 3 were opened, and only one of those stalls had toilet paper. The restrooms weren't at the cleanest condition, but they were ok. The campsite has hot running water, the kitchen is great and well equipped with electric stoves and kitchen utensils. Unfortunately, it didn't open as it was supposed to in the morning (no idea why), but we were allowed to use the nearby hostel's kitchen, which was great as well.
All and all, a nice campsite, which I'm sure will be much more organized in the summer.

Paid $20pp and we were told that one shower and kitchen would be open 24 hours. Neither was true and we were ripped off. Don’t stay here, and if you do, just don’t bother paying!!

We spent our last night camping at this camping. The place was really great. The kitchen space was huge and clean. The bathroom were okay. It was a really great place to spend our last night. It was the perfect place to make sure everything was in order for de drop off of our camper.

Well equipped kitchen, hot showers, access to washing machine and dryer (paid desperately). Bit pricey (1900 ISK per person). Registration opened till 22:00. Was our camping on first and on last day. Greatly recommend.

We stayed here our first night in Iceland with our camper van. This had the best kitchen of all our stays, large and clean with lots of hobs and sinks. A short drive from the centre of town, bathrooms were warm (it was late September!) and clean although we didn't try the showers. Our pitch was quiet and secure, we were even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights despite the city lights.

We were there in September, because of that only one bathrooms was opened (3 showers in both woman and man bathroom). A lot of space to cook and eat in shared kitchen. Also shared laundry is available. Price per person is 1900 ISK in own tent.

If I could give them no star I would. We have stayed all over the island over the past week and never had an issue with any other campsite. First off, it's almost double the price of any other campground around and then when our heat went out at night they told us we couldn't start our car to jump our heating system because it wasn't good for the environment. This was within a matter of minutes of attempting to start our van, yet no one was around when kids were making noise all hours of the night. Very disappointing.

The campsite is located at a 30-45min walk or quick bus trip from the city centre. Facilities were great and clean, although very busy (summer). Prices were high but not crazy considering the facilities. WiFi only worked near the reception (although the network was available outside that area) and was pretty slow, but free.

A bit more expensive than other campsites but to be expected in Reykjavik price is 2200kr I believe but as a bicyclist I got a 10% discount, so I paid 1900kr. Very large common areas and also large kitchen with communal stoves and ingredients. This was a huge plus. Plenty of outlets, toilets and showers. Many outdoor tables and friendly local cats.

Giving one star is generous. I've been backpacking for 4 months and this has been the worst campsite I've been to. Filthy, disgusting showers and toilets. People leaving trash and food everywhere. If you like sleeping in a frat house, this might be up your alley. If you're an adult that appreciates cleanliness and quiet, stay far from this business. The staff didn't seem to mind drunk/high kids jumping on tables making a spectacle of themselves. Or the fact that the place looked nasty all the time. TP always out, soap out, and women's sanitary bags overflowing. Way over priced, and people are tenting on top of each other. Overcrowding, to get as much money as possible. Please update or hire more people to take care of this. Ruined the tail end of my trip, love the beautiful country. Represent what you preach.

One of the best equipped camps in Iceland. Big plus for sharing (free food and camping related stuff baskets) and recycling. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
There are few cookers. However, it is not organized well with full capacity. It relies a lot on keeping place clean after use which most of the people dont comply with.
If you are lucky you gonna have place at one of tables in indoor area with plenty plugs for charging. Definitely not enough space for everyone.
Wifi works only within indoor area near reception.
Facilities seemed not to be cleaned and undersupplied for several days when we stayed there.
Tip: showers in facilities farther from reception appeared not to smell as boiling eggs 😁q

It is an expensive option for camping even in Iceland! You pay for the convenience of staying in Reykjavik. Quite a crowded place. Facilities are a bit run down. It is far from the brochure description of 5 star camping. The gate is locked at the field of the tent area and if you have a vehicle you may not be able to leave before 7:00am. This might be bad if you have an early flight to catch in the next morning or you have an early ticket to the Blue Lagoon.

We stayed at this location in April 2017 in a campervan. While staff was very accommodating and helpful, the campground facilities as a whole is run down and in need of some TLC. The site was popular with campervans and there were even a couple of tent campers. While billed as a year round campsite - common areas were closed at awkward hours, facilities were dirty and untended, and the small population present maxed out the common spaces. We were very relieved to find that this experience was not reflected in campgrounds across the rest of the country. I cannot imagine the strain that full summer use must place on this property.

If your journey finds you here take time to swim in the community pool located behind the campground. It is within walking distance.

The hostel facilities seemed to be well kept and maintained.

Great facilities. Happy and helpful staff.
Free food and free stuff section is a life saver! You can easily equip yourself fully for trekking over there, its ridiculous :)

Perfect place to park or camp in the city. So close to everything but far enough away that it isn't noisy. We stayed there 3 nights during Novemeber and the washroom were very clean and the lot was well maintained. Will definitely go back during the summer to enjoy it more.

Quite good campsite, sure it is over crowded, but well situated, possibility to buy maps and camping gas at reception, also there is a huge shel with stuffs and food, whose people leaving didn't want to take with them away. You can find there really useful stuff, is you just arrived (matches, camping gas etc.). Clean toilets and showers. Bus stop to and from the airport is just in front of campsite.
