Wonderful and kind service. Excellent attention to detail. You are all the time made to feel at home. The rooms are always clean, neat and tidy: they look really beautiful, and they are well equipped with everything you need. The bed is really comfortable and you can rest very well. The location is excellent and the hosts are wonderful, always attentive to their guests' needs. I have been to other guesthouses, but I have to say that Galtafell is the best place to stay: I will definitely return when I am back in Iceland, as it is the best.

It was an amazing find so reasonably priced and fantastic location, there was a mix up with our room for the first night but it was resolved via free breakfast, lovely and clean, we stayed in an apartment, warm and cosy in winter. It's not possible to get a hotel transfer to the property and the bus stop is a 10 minute walk so bear in mind if travelling in winter or if elderly/children/lots of luggage. The owners are lovely and helpful we would stay again

We stayed in the bottom floor with a private bathroom. The room was large and wonderful. I really liked the location and it wasn't too noisy.

Excellent location to see everything in central Reykjavik and walking distance to the BSI bus terminal to get to Keflavik. Tasty and Inexpensive (1500ISK) simple breakfast buffet.

Each room is unique! We had the Library, full of books from Saga history to contemporary design, decorated with DeNiro/Pacino movie posters, and a corner full of windows. Beds were very comfortable and the room was cozy and warm.

If you like animals, be sure to say hello to Jellybelly the cat and Fram the dog! Both of them will love you.

Just absolutely fantastic! My fiance and I were only in the apartments, but Galtafell is simply sublime! Can't wait to come back, and play with Jelly Belly (the big lovely cat!)!

I have stayed here alone and with my wife - both in the suites and the dorm areas. Always reliable, friendly service at a location and price that can't be beat. Internet recently upgraded for access in all rooms. Free on street parking, but walking distance to all downtown Reykjavik attractions. Owner always available around the clock. Recommended for families and individual travelers!
