Used Gray Line for airport transfer & Northern Lights experience. Airport transfer didn't even drop us near the hotel & we had to walk 15 minutes at 01:30 in the morning with luggage. The buses aren't allowed into the centre of Reykjavik but another company dropped us much closer at another stop.

Northern Lights tour was cancelled by them due to weather conditions (fair enough) but they got messed about when asking for a refund as we were leaving the following day.

It's all just hassle you don't want when paying money to avoid hassle on holiday. Avoid.

Bitterly disappointed. After spending the extra money to be picked up at our hotel to go to the airport, we were not picked up at all, resulting in us having to pay a significant amount of money for a taxi to the airport. The confirmation email from Gray Line stated that we were to wait at a bus stop number, followed by an address (our hotel). Therefore we stood at the address and waited, and after 15 minutes of waiting in the rain, we called Gray Line and were told that the bus stop and the address provided were at different locations and we had missed the bus (as we were at the address listed, not the bus stop). This situation was obviously incredibly frustrating given we paid extra for a service that was not delivered, and compounded by the fact that we spoke on the phone to a person from customer service who clearly did not want to assist us with the situation. There is another bus service that operates and I would encourage visitors to utilize Fly Bus instead of wasting time and money with Gray Line.

I would just like to thank you you all at GrayLine on behalf of myself and my sisters. We came away to Reykjavík for a few nights and found everything so well organised. Even though our trips were cancelled due to bad weather, you accommodated is in the next available trip. All of your transfers have been on time and all staff friendly and pleasant especially our nice guide. I forget her name but she told us it means lady warrior. It was our first trip to Iceland and will certainly be visiting again. Thank you

Went on the Golden Circle Classic tour today. It was fantastic. Saw some incredible sights throughout the day and the guide ('Willy') and driver were both excellent. An unforgettable experience. What an amazing country Iceland is.

We had a fantastic day on our South Coast tour to the Glacier Lagoon. Our guide Gudni and driver (sorry I can't remember name!) were perfect and helped make this a great trip. It is a long day but definitely worth it, the glacier lagoon is like another world. We also visited the huge Skogafoss waterfall and the black sand Diamond Beach. We were picked up promptly from our hotel in a minibus and transferred to the Gray Line bus terminal where we changed to a large coach which was clean and comfortable. The day is planned very well with rest stop and lunch breaks, the longest stretch of driving was only about 2h15m. We had amazing sunny weather along the South Coast, but on our return journey the weather turned very snowy and as a result we were delayed getting back to Reykjavik. The driver handled this perfectly and I very much appreciate his efforts to get us back safely and comfortably, would prefer to be out longer than be in an accident for sure! Highly recommend this tour.

Not terrible but not great either. Windows were dirty on the vehicle (I know it was winter but the other tour operators I travelled with had cleaner ones). Driver was rude to me and I had to get off in a different place to where I boarded as he said he couldn't stop there. Driving felt safe and inside of bus was clean and comfortable. Not bad but I had better experiences with the other two bus companies I travelled with.

When looking for my bus to Reykjavik from the Blue Lagoon, I asked a bus driver taking tickets (the 6:15 bus if anybody bothers to follow-up) if it was the bus that went to the BSI terminal. The purpose of this was so that I WOULDNT GET IN THE WRONG BUS. The guy said in a super rude manner (instead of answering the question I originally asked) “do you even have a ticket with grey line?” At which point I realized I was at the wrong bus. Now, his question to my question was reasonable, I will give him that, but his tone, general attitude and disrespectful delivery made it so that I will never use this company ever - and I fully intend to return to Iceland in the near future.

    TL; DR
Use Reykjavik Excursions instead. They’re easy to use, communicative and transparent. Grey line apparently hires power tripping little brats.

Beware. Pick up times are a 30 minute window. Even if you scout the bus stop area and ask every bus driver if you're on their manifest, you might still miss your bus. We were early for one of our bus pick ups but didn't see a bus from our tour company. We were outside at the bus stop (where you are required to wait) and apparently our driver parked somewhere else nearby, went in to the hotel lobby, called our names in there, even called our room (again, it's a requirement that you wait outside at the bus stop) and then left without us. If we had waited inside the hotel lobby or even in our room we might have been picked up, but because we waited where we were required to wait, the driver left without us. Bus stops have no shelter and it's regularly freezing, windy and wet. And you have to wait for up to 30 minutes.

I Booked 3 tours through them and 2 apt - hotel transfers, The Golden Circle tour was nice i'm only a bit disappointed with the timings, they have never been on time for my pick up and i was freezing as i couldn't wait for them inside my hotel as the pick up was at the hotel in front of mine and i couldn't see it from the inside i was supposed to be picked up at 7am for my airport transfer so i was outside at 6.50am and at 7.25 no one was there yet and no one was picking up my call they arrived around 7.50am telling me they forgot to advise regarding the late departure

We went on the Golden Circle Classic Tour, the Northern Lights Mystery tour, and the Blue Lagoon Spa Day.and it was INCREDIBLE. The buses were clean and on-time. Drivers were friendly and helpful. Some buses even had outlets to charge our phones. Tour guides told us tons of interesting facts and stories about where we were going and Iceland in general, so we really enjoyed the journey there at the same time as the sights itself!

Booked the northern lights tour with them but on the day of the tour there was a thick layer of clouds and no chance to see the lights. Most other companies canceled the tour that night since there was nothing to see but Grey Line didn't. I asked the tour guide if I can cancel the tour and get a refund before the tour but he insisted that there is a high chance to see the lights although both the weather and the aurora forecasts were saying diferently. So I ended up spending the night driving amesly for hours with 200 other people (4 full buses) and ended up seeing absolutley nothing! I tried to ask for a refund after the fact but the answer was a cathergorical NO so in the end they made around £7600 in one night by forcing people to go on a pointless tour. My advice, pick any other travel agency in Reyjkavik since all of them had the common sence to cancel that pointless tour but Grey Line treated its customers as cash cows good for milking.

Buyer Be Aware! Misleading advertisement! We purchased the Airport Shuttle Service with "Door-to-Door service" with pickup from a hotel listed on the Grey Line website. We learned the night before our scheduled pickup that we'd need to schlepp our bags up a rather steep hill to a bus stop several blocks away at 4:00AM (in the rain).Buses are apparently no longer allowed to travel along neighborhood streets.

Had two very different experiences with Grayline in Iceland. The first was a lovely Golden Circle Tour with a friendly and entertaining tour guide. Great day out.

The second was a trip to the airport. I was picked up by a very grumpy bus driver who would grunt at passengers. He didn't bother to open the rear door for luggage nor welcome passengers. One group got on and mentioned that their friend was on the way. Literally 5 seconds passed and the bus driver started honkingat 3:45 am.

If you hate customers, work in a factory. If you like customers, do a better job like the Golden Circle tour guide did.

We used this for transport from airport to our airbnb. Although they told us they would drop is 5 minute walk for our address, the shuttle driver delivered is right in front of the building. Great service. Friendly staff. Best price compared to the competition

For a decent price I was able to have full day trip between KEF and Reykjavik. Bus drivers were really helpful and incredibly dedicated on providing service with meeting route times.

Took the Golden Circle Express tour with tour guide Alvar. He was excellent. He was a trove of fascinating information about history, myths, geography. He spoke almost continuously during the entire tour.

Tour on viking horses and blue lagoon in Icleand via Grey lines (Viator booked) was fun but the Grey line dd not hold up its end of the tour. All 6 of us were waiting 30 minutes prior to pick up time and expected as per other tours we took previously in Iceland that the rep would come into the hotel lobby to pick us up. No rep showed and we missed the bus. We had to take two taxis at $65/taxi to the horse farm. In addition connections between the horse farm and bus to the blue lagoon were not coordinated and were left up to the consumer. TAke tours in Iceland that are consumer aware and have responsible members on the buses, not grey line reps or drivers.

I booked the "inside the glacier" tour with them which was not cheap at all (250€ for 1 person).
I woke up early the morning of the departure and called them just to let them know that I was going to be at another pick up location. At that moment they told me that all the tours were canceled for the day.
They also told me that and I quote "we spent all night sending emails, you didn't receive yours because of a typo".
I find it hard to believe that they sent emails manually to each person.
    This company is not serious.

I could not fault them. They were referred to us by a friend who had used them. We booked all our tours online before heading to Iceland so benefited from some good discounts. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable.
