It’s exactly what you can expect from a hostel. Clean rooms, friendly staff and backpackers. The dorm where we stayed had a huge clean bathroom. Although in my opinion, the price difference with respect to a guesthouse should be bigger. The kitchen was splendid, very clean and open 24H.
Great little hostel in a good location in central Reykjavik, close to airport bus pickup spot and reasonably priced. Rooms are clean and well designed, and staff are friendly and helpful! Would definitely go back anytime.
Very clean and peaceful, the bedding was so comfy. Location is perfect walking distance to everything and easy pick-up and drop-off from excursions. So happy I chose this hostel to be able to still go out at night with friends and make new friends but also have a quiet clean and comfy room to come back to when I needed some good rest. Will be back for sure!
Great hostel. Clean, comfy and convenient! I stayed at girls’ dorm for 3 nights. Although there were 10 people in a room, we didn’t bother each other. There are lockers in the room to store the valuables. It’s close to the bus station no.4 where all the pickups for tours happen. The common area is nice also with good music and lighting. The kitchen is big and has everything I needed. Overall, good experience!
Really great price point but it was a very independent style hostel so if you're looking for the mingle aspect you won't find it here. But clean and definitely worth the price. Perfect location!
Great service and assistance of the staff, rooms and bathrooms are super clean. Good location in downtown. Would stay here again.
One of the best hostels I ever went to. Super helpful. Cheap. Nice rooms. Great location.
Great location for our needs! Room worked out well and the price was good compared to others in the area.
Super friendly and helpful staff! The room is spacious. Toilet is clean. Complimentary breakfast is adequate and yummy! The only drawback is the not-so-clean bed sheet. You may ask for change if you really can't accept it.
This hostel is amazing! I’m staying in a room with other 9 people. We have access to this amazing kitchen that has everything you need including free food left but other visitors. It is clean and the WiFi is fast.
The location is very convenient. It’s 5’ walking to bus station #4 which is one place where most of tour companies pick you up from. There are many restaurants and bars close by.
We stayed one night in a shared room, and two in a private room. Bit experiences were wonderful. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms and restrooms are very clean. And as advertised, they try really hard to reduce waist. Highly recommend!
They messed up our booking and put us up in private rooms for no extra cost. Nice view, well-situated with all the amenities. Solid WiFi, showers, clean and with comfy beds. Also very safe!
Excellent stay. Beds are comfortable. We stayed on 4th floor and there was a bathroom with shower and a second bath with no shower. Quiet and comfy. I would recommend. Convenient to many downtown restaurants and entertainment.
Clean rooms and decent breakfast, good location (walking distance from the bus station, lake, town-center) and helpful staff.
I Found it a bit distasteful that they charge extra for keeping your bag in their storage room while you go hiking (even when you have another night booked later), but other than that would recommend the place.
I landed early in the morning and made it to the hostel around 7.30am. Check in didn't start until 14.00, and even though they didn't have to, one of the clerks was kind enough to let me store my bags with them and crash on a bench for a bit. I got a dorm room with breakfast included, and it easily lasted me through dinner. Considering how expensive food and drink can be in the city, this was a huge plus. There's a separate building for cooking and storing your own food in back if you prefer. The rooms were clean and quiet with only a few on each floor. Each floor also has a free book exchange with multiple languages represented. It is also centrally located near the old harbor, which made everything well within walking distance. Overall, I had a good experience, and would definitely stay here again.
Love Reykjavik, and this hostel is well placed to enjoy it. The staff spoke good English, and were very helpful booking trips etc.
This place was awesome and so very helpful. I will definetly stay here if I ever go back to Iceland. They were so kind to let us rent a bed for a few hours of sleep as it flight arrived at 4am and we couldn't check into our room until 1230
Slightly down the way from the downtown center, but on a quiet street away from crowds. My favorite was the cafe in the front which had reasonable prices for coffee and small eats. The cafe also had unobstructed glass windows which made it easy when waiting for a tour bus to arrive.
Quiet hostel, warm and cozy. Beds were decent, thought shower was a bit dirty. Lock boxes were decent size, and laundry service wasn't too expensive. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Not close to many things in the city, but close enough that it isn't a struggle to get places. Only complaint was that the fire alarm went off four times in the night, and nobody came to room to say what was happening. Unfortunate, but overall stay was nice.
Great value for the cost-conscious traveler. I stayed in a room that accommodates 4 people, which was a step up from the 10-person per room option and not as expensive as a private room. Communal kitchen is great for breakfast / lunch and socializing with other guests. Great location, short walking distance and near the main square of downtown Reykjavik. I would totally recommend this hostel to anyone traveling through Reykjavik that wanted to save on a hotel room for a couple nights and mingle with other travelers. Easy pick-up for tours from the main lobby was an added plus.
