The owner was a lifesaver today, opening his home for travelers on Christmas Day. He's extremely nice and warm to guests, and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend stopping here.

I don't know how to describe this place accurately, it's got this American highway roadside charm, but an Icelandic twist to it. Amazing landscape outside of the window, the food doesn't look anything particular, very down to earth, but it is actually very delicious.
Tried 2 dishes, all Icelandic, the Plokkfiskur does not look appealing at all but very delicious! Mixture of fish, potato and cheese, surprisingly good.
The Icelandic lamb soup was also good, wasn't the best I've had in Iceland (weirdly the best I had was in Geysir tourist restaurant, but in none of the proper restaurants)
The food was also surprisingly filling, even though they look like they're in small portions.
Music is 70s, 80s rock, which added even more charm to it.response / report this review -

Good dinner, room is ok, beds may be better.
We stayed overnight and had dinner there. We had plokkfiskur which was really good, served with salads and 2 little slices of bread, and a strong beer (þurs sterkur). 5 star for the dinner!! the girl at the reception was kind and helpful and the room was nice and not bad for the price, 4+ stars. What a pity the pillow and mattress were "gibbous" 3 stars to the bed because i couldn't sleep well. Total: 4 stars. It was a good hotel wrt. the price we paid.
A BIG BIG plus is the location: just at the feet of a volcano, you can reach its top with comfy stairs in a 10 minutes walk from the parking lot , which is another 10-15 min walk from the hotel. (Or 1 minute by car).response / report this review -

There was no heating in the batthroom ( how hard must it be on Iceland). There was mould on the floor and shower curtain was shady. Glasses that we took from the bar were dirty (there were no glases in bathroom)!!

Hard to find someone to help, but they are really kind and helpful once you do. The food is amazing, and I highly suggest the plukkfisk.

The breakfast is excellent. The owner is super nice and also probably Iceland's biggest Pink Floyd fan. The bread is made here (along with the pastas and stuff, but I only had breakfast). Also it's open relatively really early which was convenient for us. Definitely stop by if you're going by here.

Fantastic burger! I had that and the hot dog and that was good too, but that burger was delicious! They make their own bread, too. There's also a store that sells their pasta as well.

Really wonderful place. Nice gift shop, with organic pastas, soaps and the other usual things. Multiple bathrooms and fast wifi. Kind owner, he's a big fan of Floyd. Only guest house that was open on Christmas for miles. A real life saver.
