We did not go there finally because one of us got really sick after a treck in a glacier. But amazing people there, nice and welcoming, very flexible and always available for information. The person we've been talking to was really adorable. Sorry again, we will come for sure at our next trip in Iceland.

We did a 6 hour day tour at Nuphestar that was an amazing experience. The horses, equipment and people were all top notch and we saw some amazing sights. After the ride we got nice photos of the trip, too. This place is truly worth all the positive reviews!

Absolutely WONDERFUL 3 day ride experience with Núpshestar! It was the ride of a life time for my family of 4 with beginner to experienced level riders. The horsemanship demonstrated by Elwira and Svenni was impeccable. The two young women working with them were joys to ride with. The horses were the stars ✨ of the experience and every horse I rode I found unique and pleasant. Their Icelandic Horses are healthy strong level headed equines that are adorable to top it all off!!! The views and experience on the 3 day ride provided an incredible insight into the Icelandic riding experience and way of life. I highly recommend riding with Núpshestar!

Great place to ride in the beautiful nature of Iceland. We liked riding in a small group and the friendly atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and safe on our horses because of their gentle nature. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!

Had an amazing time on our 2 hour tour which took us through some beautiful countryside far from the main roads and traffic noise. Our guide was knowledgeable about the horses and a very friendly young lady who gave a lot of good advice on how to ride most comfortably. Getting the reservation was as easy as sending an email and communication about questions ahead of time was so easy. I would definitely recommend Núpshestar!

Great all around!
We were not originally planning to ride horses in our week in Iceland, but after seeing them while driving through the countryside, we had to ride them. We booked same day a few hours in advance and got a 2 hour ride down the glacial river with a stunning view of Ejafjallajokull and Hekla.
We were all basically completely new to horseriding and they chose great horses for us. (Sonata was the best though, would recommend). The tour guide also took pictures of us on a digital camera and sent them to us via email afterwards, which is very helpful for beginners who can't handle a phone while rising horses.

We had a very nice 2 hour ride, very kind, friendly and professional staff. Horses were selected perfectly for a mix of experienced riders and beginners.
Plus a gorgeous view on Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull.

We had an amazing time with Núphestar! We called and booked the same day and went for a one hour trip and they choose just the right horses for me (who is a bit more experienced) and for my boyfriend who sat on a horse for his first time ever. Both the guides and the owner were super nice and we seriously had the best of time! Extra + that we got pictures from the ride just a couple of hours after. Hope we can come back one day! It was a very nice place to ride. The people are very friendly. I have ride tree hours it was very windy it rains but it was very nice. Wenn you come she told how to ride the töllt and you get your horse. The horses are really nice. But the horses also have al lot of energy. I think it is a good ride for experienceriders, but also for people who haven't ride before.

Three of us went on a 6hr tour and loved it. Making the reservation was easy, our capable guide Iðunn was a pleasure, and our riding group was just her and the three of us. We found the horses to be friendly and very well cared for. Núpshestar focuses on touring in small groups - even their multi-day trips have a very low client-to-guide ratio. Highly recommended.

Loved the place and the guide! Lots of experience on the guides behalf. She was good at adapting the level of difficulty accordingly. Would definitely come back and take an 3 day trip with them!!

Amazing service, well trained horses. Big thanks to owner and personnel, Rauðhetta and Goui(? Goofy :)) for awesome and friendly service. Just a little bit further from the Reykjavik but definately worth contacting and trying!

Absolutely wonderful! Went on a 3 hour ride for my birthday. The owners and summer workers were absolutely lovely, and the horses were sweet and anything. The communication in booking was quick, and they were extremely solicitous of our requests. They really went out of their way to make it a really great birthday for me.
The ride was absolutely breathtaking. Turning around at a waterfall was absolutely perfect.
It's so nice to get a private ride rather than the larger groups at some places, as well. The horses were well-matched to the rider. I got a horse with some spring in his step, while my mom (quite a novice) got a horse who wouldn't have flinched at an explosion! For her first longer-distance ride, her horse took great care of her.
And absolutely check out Elwira's hand-knitted sweaters and socks after your ride. They're incredibly beautiful!response / report this review
